It was, I found it in rural Iowa sitting inside a pickup truck under an awning about 5 years ago. After seeing the value rise on these the last couple years I couldn’t resist the bump to my savings account.
Wow, that is quite a sale on the fireplace. I recall seeing it in the background of some of your photos.
I bought a battery operated vacuum cleaner in an online auction a few weeks ago. They advertised it as a steam mop, which I wanted for myself, but they had wrong information. It was working, but the battery ran out of juice quickly, and it didn’t come with the charger. I mulled over selling it as a working vacuum cleaner without the charger and looked up rules on shipping lithium ion batteries through the mail. In the end, I disconnected it into three parts and will recycle the battery. The first to sell is the head unit for $50. I paid $7 for the auction lot that included other cleaning products and a roll of kitchen garbage bags that I will keep for myself.
This simple sugar dispenser was recently purchased in an online auction. It was thick and substantial, and I don’t believe it was ever used. It sold in just a week or two for $16. I paid less than $1.
I recently purchased a number of items at thrift stores. I haven’t been to one in a year or two. I knew prices had increased substantially, but I wanted to check some out. I paid $10 for this set of Lenox Judaica plates, which is high, but I am happy with the $54 sale price.
Found it at Goodwill for $50. They marked it as a pottery wheel. My wife does pottery and I did it in School so I knew this was definitely not a pottery wheel. It’s a bowling ball polishing machine. Sells fast and for good money. I hope I can find another some day.
Actually it was the model that saved the Mustang name, Ford was going to phase it out after the model grew to monstrous proportions in 1973. The 1974 Mustang II out sold the original. Some models of the II have gone for over $15,000 at auction.
