Gut Sales Report for the week: Worst week for sales in recent memory. My STR is way down since January.

Focus for the week : Getting things organized. Wasn’t able to work on things in the past week or so.

Scavenge of the week: Picked up a nice Carhartt Blanket Lined Jacket for $10. Also picked up a pair of Cabelas 800 Gram boots.

Thoughts for the week: Going to try and get some listing done to bring up my STR.

So last week I had an expensive hat story and this week I’ve got another. I had basically the complete opposite thing happen from last week. I listed a vintage ralph lauren hat for $225 based on what I saw similar hats going for (couldn’t find the exact one) and someone offered $150 within a few hours. I decided to let it go for that since I only gave about $2 and I was happy with that sale. A couple of days later, someone messaged me about the hat (I guess they searched the solds) and offered me $450 if I hadn’t sold it already. That was a painful message to get lol.

Oh well, I still sold it for good money, I guess I should list hats I think are expensive as auction just in case this scenario comes up again.

My hat sales blew up over the weekend, I guess people are getting ready for spring.

Whew, what a productive week! I completely reorganized my ebay office, installed a new hot tub in the office (everyone should have a hot tub in their office for listing and team meetings – lol!), cleaned out my non-ebay storage shed (and listed/sold a bunch of stuff on FB Marketplace), and made 148 new listings (lots of multi-quantity, so new listings was over 500 actual items) . I’m blowing my 40 listings/week average out of the water.

The bulk of the new listings was that massive craft haul from last weekend. 84 of the listings were the variations I made for the markers. I’ve never done variations before, so it was time to learn. Normally I would have made separate listings for every single UPC but in this case it made more sense to list them all together in order to drive multiple item sales.

I had 4 sales for $65 from the craft haul pipeline this week. If I can get about $50 in sales a week for the rest of the year from that pipeline I consider it a great success.

Since I’ve been busting my butt so hard to list a bunch, I figure it’s a good time to review year over year results for February. I really started to see the results in February from the work since the beginning of the year.

YoY Increases: 53% more items sold and 29% more total sales.

So CLEARLY that massive increase in listing volume resulted in the increase in sales. Let’s keep that ball rolling all year and see where I land. This is exciting! Not bad for a part time gig.

Slower week than the past two weeks, plus one rare return.

I started working the auction haul from a week ago, which resulted in a pretty big listing week for me. I’m still listing for my neighbor, so my commission expenses are up. I need to write my first check for him soon.

Not a good sales week for me – I spent more on Broad Porch coffee than I made on Ebay plus I have a return coming. LOL.  Better luck this week maybe.  Anticipating having less day job projects this spring and that could be a major shift in my time. We’ll see.

I finally hit over $5k listed, next up is to hit 200 items listed (I have been hovering around 180 for a long time).

My sales have taken a huge nosedive this first week of March despite daily listing. Only one sale in 8 days and on my other platform (TRR) I’ve suddenly had more returns than usual in the same timeframe. Not sure if it’s the nicer weather causing people to shop less, or the war in Ukraine impacting (people following news instead of shopping, possible economic uncertainty, etc). Maybe it’s nothing! Just working on listing more now.
