I like how you pick up kids record players as well as your usual turntables. 🙂
I have been out of town on vacation for a couple weeks – but kept selling while I was away! I haven’t posted for a bit so here are some catch up videos:
Some fun sales from a while back. Prices do not include shipping.
Thought I hit the jackpot when I found these Louboutin sandals at the Salvation Army for $6. But when I went home and did a bunch of research, it became clear that they were most likely fakes. I was hesitant to list them, but took the risk and did it anyway, and took an offer the day after listing for $50. So it turned out great in the end, but I was nervous until the 30-day return window passed. Whew.
I almost always pick up Bennington Potters items when I find them cheap enough. These “trigger” handled mugs are one of their hallmark designs. Got this one for 50 cents. Sold 6 months later for $20 (sat for a while at $24.99).
Started looking for decorative hardware based on what I learned here on SL. This is the first set of drawer pulls I picked up. 8 of them for $1 at an estate sale. Made by Amerock. I priced them high, for $40, and was surprised to get tons of watchers for what I considered to be a fairly generic style. They sold 9 months later, fairly soon after I lowered the price to $27.99.
One of my most favorite finds and sales ever. I’m extremely grateful for having learned about vintage light bulb covers from Scott of The Old Curiosity Shop on youtube, b/c when I saw these at a rummage sale, I immediately knew what they were and grabbed them. Cost 25 cents, sold within a few hours for $55. Had some damage.
Hello all! I am a fairly new very part time Ebay seller. It has taken me some time to figure out shipping and I’m still trying to get the hang of correctly pricing items. Still learning all the time from all of you. Thank you!
Here are some interesting items that I’ve sold recently:
“Liberace Cooks, Recipes From His Seven Dining Rooms”
I got this book from the discard bin at work. I looked at past sales and condition before I decided on $55 due to the fact that my copy was price clipped and had a really long gift inscription on the inside page. I wouldn’t want all that writing in a collectible book… but it sold quickly. In hindsight, I could’ve gotten more. In the future I will pay more attention to condition issues when doing comparisons. Sold $55 https://www.ebay.com/itm/362701811136
1974 Schrade Knife Pamphlet
I had no idea how much this tiny pamphlet advertising the new Old Timer and Sharp Finger knives was worth. I really couldn’t find one like it so I priced it at $14.99 but unfortunately left “Make an Offer” on. I had listed it quickly late at night and was going to fine tune all of my listings in the morning. I woke up to a $10 offer and I countered halfway. Sold $12.49. Item found on floor next to discard bin at work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/362728229964
JR Ewing Dallas Southfork Ranch Signature Bourbon Whiskey Empty Glass Decanter
I never would have known that people buy these empty bottles unless I saw that Steve S. mentioned selling one in one of his videos (thanks Steve)! Anyway, my husband bought this for $2 nearly full at an estate sale and we enjoyed the contents. The bottle sold for $21.99. Sold to someone in Manhattan so shipped in a Regional rate box for about $7! https://www.ebay.com/itm/362693158377
I learn a lot from seeing what others have sold and their comments about their sales… it is very helpful. Thank you! Liz
Interesting to see how fast that Marantz turntable is selling.
About a month ago, I sold a damaged oil painting of a race horse. I had actually bought two paintings at that time. This is the other one, which is of a pair of ducks. Paid $5.75 and sold for best offer of $74.65 (buyer wanted the price with shipping to add up to an even number). http://www.ebay.com/itm/183846039092
During our vacation to Florida last month, I did do a little of sourcing even though I picked up a large amount of free stuff. This traveling bar set is the more modern version of the Trav-L Bars from the 60s. I paid about $6.50, and it sold for $47. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183896552222
No one wanted a lot in a recent auction, so they reduced the price to $2, and I bought it. A buyer at the auction offered me $2 for one of the books, which, of course, I accepted. This music CD set sold for $30. I’ve got several more listed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183916299123
When I was going through my parents’ friends freebee stuff, I found what I thought were a few matching clear glass vases, and I was going to donate them. My mom asked about what I was rejecting, and we realized that they were actually a set of milk shake glasses. They sold to someone in the UK for $39. Yay for my mom! http://www.ebay.com/itm/183913025629
From a bear collection auction lot earlier this year, I bought this really small 4″ teddy bear made in Germany for pennies. It sold for $22. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183734943363
