I’ve been on vacation for about 1 1/2 weeks, and it’s the summer, so I wasn’t expecting much. However, I had a few pretty interesting items sell last week.
The group called the Improved Benevolent Protective Order Elks of the World was created after African Americans felt the Elks discriminated against black members. (I’m sure that things are much different now). The Daughters of the IBPOEW is the women’s auxiliary. I bought these items for pennies in a auction box lot. They sold for best offer of $50. I did not see many items from this organization on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183687934004
This Rheem tool box was custom made in the 1950s for either an HVAC mechanic or salesperson or someone who did both. It had brochures and several tools. I was surprised when no one was bidding against me at the auction. I bought it for $11.75, and it sold for best offer of $125. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183753784343
I couldn’t find anything similar to this shirt & pants set. The online auction said that they were African made. They are very wide. I was able to find the obituary of the original owner, and he was not heavy. So, I’m not sure if the set was for someone else or if that was a type of style. Anyway, I listed it at $23, and it sold in just a few weeks. I paid less than $1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/183864407146
