In my Facebook groups there are collectors looking for this Star Glow pattern. Paid $1.99 at thrift store.

Sold these German Midcentury plates. I loved the cobalt, white and black graphics. Unfortunately the other two were very damaged. Buyer was delighted with them. Paid fifty cents or so at an estate sale that was super picked over with the dealers going through the day before.

Sold this Hand Crafted Pelican Figurine from my parents’ house. My dad said his uncle bought it for him on Pier 39 in San Francisco (70s?). He flew up to Washington State.

Finally got my money back plus a small profit on these Marimekko for Target Items. This color scheme was not as popular as the blue. I snapped up most of the items from other resellers liquidating to match the side plates set I originally bought at the launch. Took a long time to sell so kind of an RA fail. They finally went GSP to Mexico.

There is a pretty good pipeline going for me with 1:18 Diecast metal, yet sales are quiet right now. I’m posting a good sold on a Barbie sized jukebox, made for the Tammy Doll, circa 1960’s. There is good money in vintage dolls and accessories, especially if you ‘buy it all’ and sort it out later! I’m about done working on my third ‘buy it all’ purchase of vintage doll stuff and I’m looking for more.

This 9″ tall plastic jukebox sold for best offer of $240. It comes from a huge lot I purchased for $100 total.

I had a great week of sales last week. Here are some of the more notable ones…

I bought a great box lot of nice gold filled pens at an auction. Included in the box were a large assortment of Avon brand men’s jewelry. I always stay away from Avon anything, but since they came with it all, I thought I might as well list them. Individually, they weren’t worth my time to list, so I lotted them all up and sold them together. Got $30 for them all. Cost me $1.82.

Pottery can be a hit or miss for me. I bought a box lot of really cool looking pottery pieces for $27.50 (each sellable piece came to $5.50). I thought it was a bad buy when my listings sat for months on end with hardly any views. Well finally, this turquoise painted vase sold for full price of $70.

Here’s one of those sales that really had to wait for the right buyer. It’s a box full of vintage floral arrangement cards. They came from a box lot of some of the most random odds and ends that I paid $13 for ($1 for each sellable item). I knew somebody would eventually want these, but I didn’t know how to price them. So I thought $25 would be sufficient, and after several months someone else thought so too.

Here’s my big sale of the week. I’ve learned to never pass up on a good knee brace. This one I acquired at a thrift store for $10. That was kind of more than I wanted to pay, but a quick lookup of the brand showed me that I could make a lot back. Well it took awhile, but I finally took a best offer of $125 for it. The guy was really happy when he received it a day before his knee surgery too.

Hey Steve.. We have a Westbend Penguin Stainless Ice Bucket currently listed in our stores. But have it at $69.99 and MO. Guees we should adjust that based on what you mentioned. yep, there were lots listed, many have sold. We always list at over the higest price sold which ever is higher Ebay or Worthpoint. That allows us to run a Sale and take offers on top of that to boot. But at $69.99 we may be “too” high.

My biggest sale last week was a Band of Brothers HBO leather bomber jacket. I bought it on the last day at a rummage sale, and the jacket was in the “boutique” room. The lady didn’t want to take my offer of $15 for it plus $25 for something else, so I turned to walk away. Then she decided it was better not to have to carry it back home. Sold for $100 through the GSP to Italy.

At the same rummage sale as the bomber jacket, I filled up two bags with clothing (in the regular room) for $5 each. I grabbed a wedding dress, but, once home, I found that the bottom hem was dirty. I tried a dry cleaning sheet for the dryer, but it didn’t help at all. I listed as-is. I found that these dresses were going for dirt cheap, but I didn’t want to sell it so low. I listed it for $34 and figured it would sit there for months. Sold two days later, and I’ve already received positive feedback!

My partner bought a lot of hunting type clothes from an online auction for cheap, and gave nearly all of it to me to sell. Had two packages this week that were damaged in transit by USPS – one, the gal said the box was so trashed she was worried about the glasses inside, but that with the bubble wrap and packing peanuts, all 12 were fine. The other was a poster in a tube that got dented while en route to LA – had to send out another (glad I had it; was old stock from a shop I closed) in a much more fortified manner. C’mon USPS!
