I kind of look at hats but never seem to find cool ones like you do Steve. Sharing a few sales. Noticing a trend that some of my newest listings really move quickly, so I’m sharing some of those.
Vintage Brass Door Knocker sold for full price, paid $6 at now closed down storage locker hoarder thrift shop.
This also sold immediately Pischke Pocket Needlepoint Kit I wish I had had the tote bag too and not just the pocket – one comp sold for over $100!
This also sold immediately. The rest of our Halloween is in the attic unfortunately. I now wish I would have bought more on clearance! Paid $34 after Christmas sale. New Williams Sonoma Platter Interesting that this went to the UK. Apparently, Halloween is catching on over there.
Hard to get good prices at our local Flea Market, but I know Martha Stewart Craft items can do well. paid $2. Martha Stewart Paper Punch
I love these Blenko Glass Candle Holdersand overpaid a bit maybe at $12 local thrift. It took longer than I thought to sell and sold for less. I can’t recall if this is one of the older listings I tweaked.
That hike looks gorgeous, Steve. And that tombstone! First White Child born. Interesting that it seemed to be the only one? Often homestead cemeteries have a few more generations. Perhaps they weren’t long for that area.
@ChristineR – Through your posts, I enjoy “learning” more about embroidery kits, makers, their value, etc. I myself haven’t come across any worth buying, but I’m always looking.
I listed a lot last week, and sales were on the rise in the past few days, encompassing probably 75% newly listed items, as well as some of my older listings (yay). Here are some highlights:
Paid a few bucks for this vintage LL Bean Boat and Tote waxed canvas bag at an estate sale, and used it as my gear bag for random selling supplies when I had an antique mall booth. Considered keeping it longer, but with the short handles, it doesn’t suit my needs as well as other bags I use more often, and I don’t like to have things sitting around unused – especially when I can get a good return on them! Sold it within a few days for $70: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-LL-Bean-Brown-Waxed-Canvas-Leather-Trim-Zip-Top-Boat-And-Tote-Bag-USA/323293797302
Another vintage LL Bean bag – this beat up one I purchased for $40 off eBay for my own use for carrying my laptop, for light travel etc. After about a year, determined a different bag would better suit my overnight travel needs, and I scored a preferred bag for laptop/office use at a clothing swap. So, put this one up for sale for $60, and it sold within a few days: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-LL-Bean-Tan-Gray-Leather-Tote-Bag-Overnight-Laptop-Briefcase-Carryall/323297055515
I picked up a large linen lot from an online auction last year, and spent some time soaking and laundering the various items. After my mom selected a few items that interested her (she’s a quilter/crafter), and we pressed out many of the items, I’ve finally gotten around to listing them. I was delighted to see a similar, though mismatched, set of these equestrian Madeira linen napkins sell at auction recently for $190! I had high hopes for this matching Fox Hunt set to go similarly high, but they never went above their initial starting bid of $50, despite having lots of watchers. Alas, still a good sale: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-Set-of-8-Fox-Hunt-Horse-Rider-Equestrian-Embroidered-Madeira-Linen-Napkins/323300075932
I’ve been selling a few random vintage pieces for a 70 yo friend of my Mom, including this good condition Watt Pottery Moon & Stars bowl. I’ve had it listed for about a year, have lowered the price, but perhaps the shipping cost on this heavy stoneware piece has deterred buyers. I’ve had one buyer make several low offers over the past few months, and I countered on price until this last week, when I accepted the offer. Packaged it up in peanuts and a sturdy box and it got there swiftly. I received a complaint email from her the day it arrived, wondering how it got there in one piece since I used no bubble wrap, and telling me she believed it to be a reproduction, since it was in such good condition. “Very disappointed” in her purchase, she was, though no request from her beyond the general complaints. I had to edit my reply to her, as my customer service can be a bit knee-jerk when people come out of the gate with a strong accusatory offensive… I explained my experience in using expensive shipping peanuts, as well as that the bowl belong to the mother of my 70 yo family friend, and they tried to take great care of their housewares, etc. No reply back, though I wonder if I should go check my PayPal account for a hold on funds, as she feels a bit shady at this point. Had to share/complain! And forewarn on listing stoneware – needs to have high value/collecting value to balance out the shipping fees. And use bubble wrap, gah!
Awesome sales Steve, as usual. The car parts really interest me and I am learning a lot from your videos. And Christine your door knocker and panels — A-mazing! And Silver Fox Finds, love the LL Bean items!
Here is our contribution of what sold (these are highlights of the last four weeks): designer sunglasses, beta tapes, bomber jacket, art nouveau planter, vintage tile (they were in the free pile at a garage sale), quilts, formula 1 racing cap, and more.

Great Videos and great sales everyone! I love Ebay.
Steve have you ever considered voice over work? you are so smooth….
Regarding the packing request, I had a very similar experience when I sold delicate WW2 ship models.
The instructions sent were so specific, it felt like responding to a ransom note ” wrap each ship with 6 or 7 rubber bands no wider than 1/8th inch , then wrap in saran wrap, then suspend the case in the box…etc”
– like you I was initially kind of put off, but I actually learned a lot from that- The bummer is the guy gave me no feedback- the reframed positive was the sale price was reward enough.
(your friendly teller at the local bank or credit union has tons of these rubber bands to give away you BTW)
Sigilini- you are killing it! way to go- very impressive!
SallyReport: crickets. Sold 3 things locally on OfferUp that were laying around the backyard, and had a couple best offers on ebay that fizzled but have not listed or picked in days- I’m doing great for the month due to the sale above and a few other nice sales in June.
The grind of the remodel is settling down to a non chaotic state, with the completion of major time and money sucking projects; Roof, electrical, siding and paint- and I feel like I can breath again for a minute. I’m broke as a joke but I can breath and the universe will provide.
Thanks Big Sally, yes I too had a specific packing request that ended up costing me slightly more than I charged. But I was OK with it, it was not much. And no feed back…. sheesh!
