Forest Service Helmet / Hard Hat – Found this in with the Halloween costumes at a thrift store. Paid $1.99, sold for $100. The guy said he had a USFS light he wanted to put on it and left great feedback.
Lot of Vintage Gas and Oil Company Maps – Bought a big box of old maps, brochures, etc. for $5 at a yard sale and sold this lot for $99. I’d already made around $100 on the box before this.
Pendleton Blanket – Picked this up at a yard sale for $3, and sold it for $240. It took about a week of back and forth with the guy, but we finally settled on this price and I did not dry clean it for him. He had apparently been looking for this specific pattern for a while.
Vintage Koala Blanket – I usually only buy these acrylic blankets if they are Biederlack brand (and I always buy those), but this one seemed unique so I grabbed it. Don’t remember what I paid, but I’m sure it was $5 or less. It took a while, but finally sold for $150.

1960s The Beatles Record Case
Mentioned this on one of the Sunday posts, but this was amazing. I got this from a guy that sources & picks himself, but hates eBay/online sales. He usually just sets up on his stoop and sells on nice days. Since I bought from him a couple times, he told me that he’d call me first when he gets something good. He called me about this Beatles record tote – I’ve seen them at the 45rpm/7″ size, but never large. Even on eBay only one had sold in the past year. I paid $40 for it, expecting about $150 until I did my research. Listed high at $500 since it was the only full sized version listed(thanks Ryanne!) and jumped at the $400 offer. Buyer in Canada left glowing feedback.
c1980s Boston Celtics Satin Jacket
Got this and 3 other jackets at a sale about two months ago. Last day, about two hours before closing they were taking offers on everything. Hanging in the garage were 4 jackets, a bit dirty – 3 Celtics and 1 Red Sox. They were marked $40 each, I offered $10 each for all 4 and they took it. I knew I’d have no problem selling, but on the spot couldn’t tell if they were actually vintage or “vintage-look”. Went home, researched the manufacturers and RNs – this one turned out to be 1980s, the Red Sox was actually 1960s (sold within a week for $200). Because they were true vintage and were worth it, I did something I generally don’t do – washed them. Sold for $200.
(2) Vintage 1970s NY Giants Smoked Glass High ball Glasses
Another sale that isn’t making me rich, but another good pipeline item. Find these from time to time, a regional product that was a gift with gas purchase from Sunoco in the early 1970s. In my region I find Jets, Giants, and once Redskins. This was actually from a fresh case of them someone had. Paid less than $1 each, been selling slowly but surely for $15/pair.
(6) SEALED NEW c1971 TDK Endless EC-30S Audio Cassettes
I sell a good number of cassettes like Steven. These are likely the oldest I’ve ever had. I didn’t think much of them when I bought them, but did like their age. Maybe paid $2 for all of them, sold for $70 best offer + $30 shipping to Australia.

I’ll start off with my high sale of the week. I got this old oyster tin in a box lot that I paid a whooping $60 for. I recognized some good pieces in the lot so I went high. So after dividing it up, this tin cost me a little more than $4. Old oyster tins are highly collectable for some reason. I listed this higher than average and took a best offer of $65. So that paid for the lot, and I’ve still got a bunch of good stuff to sell out of it. Wentworth’s Oyster Tin
Here are a pair of new in box vintage Speco speakers with plastic molded housings. I got these at an auction of an audio store that finally closed it’s doors after being in business for many years. Nobody wanted these, so I picked them up for a total of $4. I listed them quantity 2 for $35 each and someone bought them both for $70 total. NOS Speco Speakers
I bought a whole tray lot of these really awesome large hand-tinted glass slides of Egypt for $25. I thought they would sell really well. I think I’ve had them listed since last summer and this was only the third one to sell. Oh well. This one sold for $15. If anyone has any suggestions on a better way to list these, let me know. This was a nice little sale. I see these old cutting boards all the time, but never really thought much of them. I got this pair along with an old schoolhouse paper cutter for $30 total. After doing some research, it seems that people love these. And the more used they look, the better. I sold this pair for a best offer of $38. Vintage Cutting Boards
