When I google “Rooster folk art” and look at images, I see some similar styles:

01/09/2020 at 10:27 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: 8 Track player, Napa Valley Box Co. Cassette rack #72746I sold a similar Napa Valley cassette holder a year or two ago. I found it in one of our closets. It had been my husband’s. Best way to source!
This inside micrometer set is one of the last big items from an auction my husband and I went to a few months ago. My husband also cleaned it up for me. I bought it for $11, and it sold on offer for $84.76.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/184012806209I was talking to one of my old work buddies about all the vintage radios I bought at auction. He mentioned that he used to repair old tube radios. He gave me this book of circuit diagrams from 1931/32. It sold for $20.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/184011496989I paid a bit too much for an online auction lot of four decoys. I paid about $10 for this hand carved LL Bean goose. It took over 1 1/2 years to sell, but it did go for $49.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183722970109I paid about $5 for this small German made jar with lid. It is a honey pot for the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah or New Years. It sold via GSP to someone at the Jewish Museum in Munich for $36. I wonder if the guy was buying for himself or if will be part of a display?

Not a big deal, but it was something. So, 700 ft of the small 12″ bubblewrap plus 250ft of the large 12″ bubblewrap for a total of $49.30.

01/09/2020 at 12:36 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 444: Is Cross Posting The New Reality? #72714Mike – I also “stalk” their store and noticed the move to free shipping & free returns. Maybe they will make that the subject of one of their podcasts.
I actually have some information for you. I gave you the Facebook link to an inexpensive bubblewrap supplier recently. I started getting emails from a different company that had the same business name at the bottom. I verified from Facebook that this company is a partner of theirs, and they sell the same product. I bought both the small and large size bubblewrap for less money than the Facebook price, so I thought I’d give you the website for when you need to order again:

After I pay for shipping using the bulk shipping tool, I can print out three other things in addition to the labels themselves: USPS Scan Sheet, pick list, and billing summary. The Pick List was what I was looking for! It was just added yesterday.
Information for each purchase is printed out in rows and has things like listing title, purchase price, buyer’s address, and tracking number. I cut out each into a strip and use it to match the box with the label. Then, I throw the strip in the package before I seal it. It acts as a small packaging list.
I don’t know that you had anything to do with that, but thanks!
Amatino – Go ahead and put me down for a personal goal of 20. I’m trying for higher value, possibly longer to list, items this year.
01/07/2020 at 10:12 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 444: Is Cross Posting The New Reality? #72608Anyway, I just called eBay, and we walked through the recent “resolved without seller resolution”, and I explained how I was involved and how I resolved each issue. The seller rep removed two defects plus one of my cancelations from October. I don’t see anything updated in my statistics yet, but I should be good to at least keep the above average rating.
In the meantime, I noticed that 7 items from Dec 30 & 31 show up with tracking never uploaded. In my orders page, they definitely show uploaded tracking. I buy most of my shipping through eBay and occasionally through Pirate Ship, so all tracking is uploaded automatically. The CR said that this was a known glitch, and these aren’t counting against me.
Someone recently made an offer on a lamp, but specified that they didn’t want the shade. So, I accepted the offer, and then sent an invoice with the reduced shipping since the shade was not included in the sale.
Why don’t you call eBay and find out if you can send a combined invoice for all the offers? Ask them, if you accept all the offers, would you be able to send a combined invoice with all the items and the reduced shipping? I don’t know if eBay’s software has that function, but it would be the best option.
01/07/2020 at 9:38 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 444: Is Cross Posting The New Reality? #72602I don’t have free returns. I’ve thought about adding it, but I wouldn’t have had free returns on something large and heavy like the item I’m talking about. I suppose I could report the buyer, but I don’t think that would help considering I didn’t have free returns.
All I did was bring up the return and press the button. I didn’t notice the box.
But, I hear you. I will consider free returns, but I think I’ll wait until I get TRS back.
01/07/2020 at 8:36 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 444: Is Cross Posting The New Reality? #72587Oh, I didn’t say I was going to leave the entire platform!! I had a couple of hiccups in October where I had to cancel a sale. They were stupid issues that actually weren’t issues, but I messed up. It wasn’t a big deal, but my account rating was dropped from TRS to Above Average.
Last month, I had a false INAD return. When I went to issue the return, eBay had it set up so that I didn’t have to refund the original shipping, and all I did was click. The buyer called and complained, and she left negative feedback. I called eBay to explain what happened, and they removed the negative feedback. However, my status says that I will be considered Below Average for next rating period.
The whole thing is ridiculous. I plan to call eBay (maybe today) and see if I can’t change that. If not, I’d at least like to move a portion of my eBay items to Etsy so that I don’t have to pay the charge for listings over 1000. I also don’t want to pay the extra 5% in commission fees, but if they won’t change anything, I’m stuck with it.
01/06/2020 at 10:26 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 444: Is Cross Posting The New Reality? #72546I do not cross post between my Etsy and eBay stores. I might be looking at moving some of my eBay inventory over to Etsy just because I’m annoyed with eBay at the moment. I don’t know if I should look into the cross-listing software or not. I would move the listing over and then delete the old one. That will be something for me to think about in the next few weeks.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I’m slowing down and focusing on other things for a while, so I won’t be listing much in the beginning of this year.
I listed 0.
I’m always up for this challenge; however, my goals are changing somewhat this year. This will make it harder for me to compete since I will most likely be listing less.
I made a few mistakes last year because I had misplaced an item or found a defect I hadn’t noticed before. The mistakes were made because I was flying through photography and listing and didn’t spend the time to get it right. I ended up losing my top rated status, and I need to get it back.
While I did raise my average selling price last year, I think it is not enough. I need to slow down and be more careful with what I buy. When listing, I place priority on easy items rather than ones that need to be tested or repaired, but have higher value. In general, I need to catch up with my inventory (deathpiles) and slow down on purchasing.
I’m also considering another source of income which would reduce my time spent on eBay. That may or may not happen, so I can’t say whether that will affect my numbers or not.
In the near term, I have some organizing to do (non-eBay related) and my daughter is home for a few weeks before college starts back up, so my listing numbers will be low for the beginning of the year.
If you have free shipping and you are showing priority in your listing, I’d think the buyer could complain if the package came as parcel. eBay uses your shipping method to calculate an estimated delivery date, and a parcel package could take significantly longer to ship across the US.
If you have parcel but send it FedEx, I would think that would be OK. The delivery times between those two methods are similar. They are both considered “standard” methods of shipping.
I used the Google Translate app on the iPhone to see if I could translate the letters from Japanese. The handwriting function translated the first three letters on the left side as “underground woman”. So, it is probably Japanese.
It is pretty cool looking, and you could still use the word Tiki. I don’t see the chain in the photographs. It kind of looks like a large napkin holder from the photos.
