I remember you trying to find a helper. Glad it’s working out!
Unless each slide is very unique and sought after (identifiable military scenes, close up of people, special places), we find it best to sell in lots. Most slides we find are just vacation scenes which are best to sell in groups. Why not just store the carousels in standard cardboard boxes or plastic tubs?
If you plan to sell each slide one by one, then you should figure out an inventory system. You could buy plastic baseball card sleeves.
But in the end, you need to get listing them!
This is great info. I’m surprised that people who sell wholesale can have such robust businesses on FBA. I always assumed that if it was easy to buy and sell items from a wholesaler, a thousand other sellers would do the same.
What is a “white label” item?
We have to have something a little fun on the background. Glad that script works to make it clean for office workers!
Glad you found us, Starr. We like what Paula is doing.
What is scavenging like in Hawaii?Glad you introduced yourself Paul. It’s also good you have a backup skill that you can always turn on if you need to make some extra money. Construction is tough work but there also someone always needing a job done.
But it sounds like you’ve put your head down and have listed enough items to make steady profit. Best of both worlds!
Understood. I guess I just hate the clutter of all the time stamp info. Maybe we can include it in a cleaner way.
Welcome guys. When did you guys start selling and then when did the numbers start meaning it could be a full-time job?
We linked to info on donation boxes here: http://www.scavengerlife.com/2014/08/scavenger-life-episode-142-scavenging.html
Turns out you don’t have to be a charity to have a donation box. If you look closely, many boxes just have a big Recycle symbol and say nothing about a charity. Only local rules might prohibit it.
I guess the key is making an agreement with the owner of the land where you would put the box.
Any issues with security when going behind a retail store? I would think they would have 24 hour security.
Yeah, it looks like some kind of child proof lock. Maybe you put it around bag handles so kids can’t get inside?
Looks like it’s insulated. Could it just be a fancy lunch box?
I think a card catalogue storage solution would be awesome.
But we simply keep the patches in different ziploc bags.
You can separate them by kind: military, ski, boy scout, etc
And even further by shape: military square patches, round, ….
No bag has more than 100 patches and is easy to sort through. For us, its always a balance between how much time we need to spend on creating the perfect organizational system. Unless you need to teach someone else the system, “good enough” works.
Welcome. Can you not keep working for that thrift store but still sell for yourself?
Then cut back on your hours at the thrift store as your eBay store grows?
No reason why it has to be one or the other.Well said. For us, it’s more about the time and effort to double list on eBay and Amazon. It’s good to hear that for Michael it’s worth the effort to list books on Amazon as Merchant Fulfilled.
