Steve – That $600 console sale was awesome! I shipped something once with UPS. I don’t remember exactly what I had to do, but I signed up with them outside of eBay and then connected the accounts together. Later, I received a bill that I paid on the UPS website. So, yes, UPS is a pain to deal with through eBay.
A few of my higher sales from the week:
I bought this Native American print for $6 in an online auction, and it sold for $30.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182467902788Back in April, I visited my parents and came home with boxes of stuff they or their friends gave to me. This set of 6 martini glasses are hand blown, or at least the flamingos are. Other sellers had similar glasses listed as Murano, but my parents’ friends received them as a gift and couldn’t tell me one way or the other. Still, I listed them at $100 and took an offer of $75.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182544273124Last week, I went to an auction of mostly new stuff and bought an auction lot of books (new, but most with remainder marks). I mostly bought it for the Tarot card & deck sets that were included. This Vampire Tarot set was selling for around a high of $70, and the ones that were available for sale are all listed much higher. I set my price at $70, and this is the first one to sell. I’ve sold one other since then, and I still have four more. I was able to wipe off the remainder mark because it was made on the plastic wrap.

Amazing sales, Steven. You’ve really found your niche with fixing & parting out old stereo equipment.
Some of my interesting sales for the past week… thus far it’s been mostly bread & butter records, pipes, and trucker hats:
Hand Carved Skull Head Pipe Unbranded Made in Italy
Continuation of the pipe cache I found two weeks ago at an estate sale. Have nearly made my $300 investment back and I still have like 20 pipes left listed. This one sold for $40 best offer.Savinelli Goliath 315EX Pipe
This one sold for $55 best offer.Exxon Gas Service Station Mesh Hat
Nice old cap. Likely a 1970s/80s gas station attendant uniform piece. Paid maybe $0.25 in a box lot of caps, sold for $25 best offer.Brooklyn Union Gas Mesh Hat
From the exact same box lot, this one sold for full price $29.99.Vintage Levi Strauss & Co Blue Denim Jeans Wallet
This lasted only a few hours in my store. Found it on Saturday at a sale, put it in the “pile” and got a price for the pile… less than $1 per item. Sold for full price $39.991975 Apollo–Soyuz Test Project USA Soviet Union Souvenir Patch
Another great cache from last summer that just keeps paying off. For $20 bought a bag full of NASA mission patches. Already have 10x my money and still have some left. This one en route to Canada for $19.99. -

Couple of bread and butter sales nothing too crazy.
I haven’t really purchased a lot of new inventory in a year. We have been working on death piles trying to get caught up but when you have over 10k items you can afford to take a break from sourcing a ton of new inventory and focus on listing your back log.

June 4 – 10
I had a really good week last week! I just kept making those sales like it was Christmas.
First up, here’s a 1950s travel map of Paris. I acquired this in a box lot with a lot of other ephemera. Paid $42.50 for the lot, but it was VERY worth it. So far I’ve made almost $350 from those items, and I’ve got plenty more to sell. This tourist map sold for $25. The address was for a shop, so i looked it up. They make pendants and brooches using old cut-up maps under glass. It’s really neat!
1950s Paris Tourist MapOn Thursday, I made a few really good sales to drive up my average for the week. This is one of them. It’s an old Canon AE-1 Program film camera with lenses and accessories. I got this at an auction for $15. It looked practically unused, as if someone bought it thinking they would start a new hobby, but then quickly realizing the hobby wasn’t for them. Unfortunately, the batteries were left in the flash unit so they leaked everywhere inside. I took a best offer of $135.
Canon AE-1Here’s my highest sale of the week. It was on Thursday as well. I pulled this DonJoy Knee Brace out of a bin at a Goodwill Outlet. By weight, I paid $1.25. I was really excited when I saw how much they go for, but I had no clear indication what type the brace was or size or anything. I had it listed for a while until someone messaged me with corrections to my listing. I thanked him, made the changes and it sold within a couple weeks for my asking price of $150.
DonJoy Knee BraceFinally, I’d like to show why I never overlook power adaptors. Here is an adaptor for a Lazy Boy chair lift system. I picked this up at a thrift shop for a dollar. The cashier almost wouldn’t sell it to me because she thought it went to some other electronic that they had for sale. I listed it and it sold within a day for my full asking price, $60! That was the high end of the average sale price, but mine was the only one currently listed. I may have been able to ask for more, but I’m happy with the sale.

It was a neat map with all of the landmarks kind of illustrated on there. I just checked the buyer’s Etsy page and she’s already got pendants from it ready to be sold! 🙂 Her store is at https://www.etsy.com/shop/NorthStarPendants
From the looks of it, they’re just ‘shopped images for now, but it’s neat to see something I sold being put to use like that.

Sales have been super slow for us since April, but that’s ok. We’re still filling the store with yard sale finds and come Christmas we will be very busy. This was our best sale in quite a while.
Paid $55 for these at the auction. We also made around $13 on the shipping even though it was 3 separate packages. The small one went in a box and the other two were wrapped in $1 fleece blankets, then tarp, and plenty of tape, with tape handles:
