Motto: Just list, dammit!
If you struggle to list, need motivation to list more, or just want to be part of the fun, please feel free to add yourself in on a Monday. No need to ask permission.
Challenge starts Monday, December 30, with the first week ending Sunday, Jan 5 and numbers needing to be posted on Monday, Jan 6. Weekly winners will be announced, with one annual winner at the end of the year. Prize is feeling good about your listing for the year. And possibly something silly, from me, if I feel like it. 😉
Rules:
1. Just list, dammit! It doesn’t matter where you list (eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Amazon, etc.) just as long as it’s up for sale online.
2. Actual listings up and publicly for sale count. Drafts do not.
3. No double postings. E.g. if you listed an item in eBay AND Etsy, it’s one listing, not two.
4. List anything – new purchases, Death Pile items, your neighbor’s car*. Whatever^. Just list, dammit!
5. Post numbers on Mondays. Schedule goes up on Tuesdays. If you miss the Monday deadline, I will update your numbers for the week in the next week’s schedule, but the winner of the previous week remains the same, even if you would have won.
6. Listing numbers are number of listings created, not number of items listed.*Ok, maybe not your neighbor’s car.
^Unless he asks you to.A new thread will go up for each quarter. This thread is for information and general questions about the challenge or listings.

Hoping for a better showing this year! I can’t believe I did more sourcing this week. (Shakes head) It started with buying shipping supplies and then they had some other interesting auctions… Anyway.
Thanks for hosting the challenge @Amatino! -

I’m always up for this challenge; however, my goals are changing somewhat this year. This will make it harder for me to compete since I will most likely be listing less.
I made a few mistakes last year because I had misplaced an item or found a defect I hadn’t noticed before. The mistakes were made because I was flying through photography and listing and didn’t spend the time to get it right. I ended up losing my top rated status, and I need to get it back.
While I did raise my average selling price last year, I think it is not enough. I need to slow down and be more careful with what I buy. When listing, I place priority on easy items rather than ones that need to be tested or repaired, but have higher value. In general, I need to catch up with my inventory (deathpiles) and slow down on purchasing.
I’m also considering another source of income which would reduce my time spent on eBay. That may or may not happen, so I can’t say whether that will affect my numbers or not.
In the near term, I have some organizing to do (non-eBay related) and my daughter is home for a few weeks before college starts back up, so my listing numbers will be low for the beginning of the year.
