Did you hear about the new Time Away settings that are coming later this year? Read about it here –> https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2020-fall/business.html
Finally solves a lot of the pain points we all experience when taking time away from our eBay Business.
Enjoy!

I’m very impressed eBay implemented this change. Its not a flashy or big money making feature, but it’s great for sellers to give more flexibility when you need to travel or be away for a couple days.
Estimated delivery dates and dispatch due times will be adjusted when Time Away is scheduled for active listings. This means your buyers will receive realistic estimated delivery dates automatically without you having to manually change the time yourself.
I hope this means we just set a time when we’ll be back and the system figures out the time delay. Currently, we had to change the handling time when we left for vacation and needed to keep changing the handling time as our vacation got closer to ending.

It’s amazing that it has taken ebay so many years to make this change that sellers have wanted for so long.

Give sellers all the tools to run a business, streamline the process, and sellers will RUN – not walk – to do business on your platform. They are making much better decisions.
I hope one day that they implement some bookkeeping software as well – make it a one stop shop to run your whole business.

That is a big help but it’s only goes up to 15 days. They’re not allowing 30 day handling any more, which I have used successfully. According to the FAQs you can either hide your listings up to 30 days or leave them up for up to 15 days:
<p style=”text-align: left;”>“Is there a limit on how long I can schedule my time off using Time Away? With Time Away you have two settings: you can hide fixed price listings from search for 1 to 30 days or keep listings visible, but with a notice that you’re away for 1 to 15 days.”</p> -

this is cool, but if there is a limit to 15 days, that’s a bummer. i guess it makes sense that ebay does not want people to wait over a month for their items?

Yeah, this isn’t great for us when we go away for a month. This is a bummer.
As long as the seller is transparent with the handling time, who cares if its 5 days, 15 days, or 30 days? This is an unfortunately choice by eBay. Nice idea but why so restrictive?

I wonder how having 15 day handling will change some of the enterprise sellers shipping from China that say their stuff will take months to arrive. Just thinking out loud.

15 day limit for Time Away mode is strange given that you can set 30 day handling time within the listing itself. So if you want to sell while going away for a month, you can just use the old way of bulk editing handling time or editing handling time in business policies. 😐

Good. We hant checked yet, but hopefully eBay wont take away the ability to manually change handling time to 30 business days.
Even better is to extend this new feature of Time Away to have a longer duration.

I hope we’ll still be able to select 30 day handling. If so, unfortunately we won’t be able to warn buyers with the vacation header any more if we’re going over 15 days, unless we want to hide our listings.

Just turn off and then back on after 10-15 days and you’re fine.

Let me check with the development team on the 15-day limit. With enough feedback, they can hopefully change.

Cool. Just keeps it consistent with what we can do manually. eBay allows 30 day handling time in Shipping policies.
I’m still very psyched that they made Time Away.
