Currently sitting at 299 active listings and just sold my 100th item. I’m more then willing to admit that this post is nothing more then me patting myself on the back…but dammit, I think I’ve earned it! I derive a great deal of motivation from everyone’s posts on here, so thank you all very much for the information, ideas, and drive to get my store up and running.

That’s very good progress. We’ve all been there. One trick is to try to list each day at least twice the number of items you sold in the prior day. That way inventory will continue to grow and so will sales.

Good job! And it does get easier! I thought it never would but lately I have been doing much better than I expected to. We just started about 7 months ago.

I spent a solid month doing research before I started making purchases and listing anything. To be honest though I never thought things would get going as quick as they have, not that I’m complaining.

For perspective, starting the same time as you, I’ve listed 26 items and sold 13- So you are pretty much a rockstar…Have fun Buddy!

shayward23,
Congrats on your success and progress. What do you sell that has such a high turn over rate, if you don’t mind sharing?-

So far I’ve been primarily selling men’s clothes, with an emphasis on jeans and dress pants. I take extra care in research to ensure that I’m focusing on items that sell at a high rate because I’m very actively trying to build my inventory and the extra money is helping me get there. I’m slow to start buying more hard goods, but only because I haven’t done enough research to ensure that I’m not wasting money.

I’m not sure, someone with experience can name it something I guess…. I love vintage stuff with purpose-rare stuff, littles, tiny stuff, oddities, art. But I’m selling such random stuff if can turn it.
Here is what I sold-
High end pencil sharpener, Vintage screen printing equipment with lots of spare parts (the true value) .MMA Gloves, NIB vintage sewing bobbin, ‘exergenie’ vintage workout device, crazyblades trick skis, vcr, cassette deck and synthesizer all in original boxes mint, modern drum stool, vintage 45 record crates, 1 box of random leftovers.
All those Items came from estate sales, fundraiser bazaars(a very good source for high end stuff and rock bottom prices) a couple from goodwill.total cost of items was about 60 bucks max.
and the link to my tiny listings, I don’t even have a store yet, I am so slow…but I like tiny.https://www.ebay.com/usr/sallysuniverse
the caveat is I am just doing what I’ve been doing for 30 years, except now I’m really buying, not just sourcing for my home (IE Tools, furniture, Clothes etc). BIG learning curve for sure, I have a lot of Zonks as I call them, like a 40 dollar bag of watches AKA a boat anchor. God love ya for giving it a real go! hope this helps
xoxo

Big Sally,
Whoa there! I saw that wagnerware and my heart started racing! You can list that roaster for $125 and sell for at least $100, IF you’re willing to polish it first. I use a product called, Mother’s Paste, for this. You can buy it at car parts and supply stores or online. Then you can take pictures of it where it will have a mirror surface. Whatever you do, don’t use baking soda on it. Or put it in the dishwasher. Great eye on your items! Happy selling! Marjean28 -

Thanks Marjean- About the wagnerware- The handle has a crack, condition lesson!….tons of views, but nobody wants to buy it. I’ve been looking for a replacement handle but no luck yet. Thanks for that tip about the polish!
