No big news on the any fronts. We’re just “heads down and working”. Is the economy going to crash? How scared should we be? How much cash do we need t

I worked on my taxes this weekend. Since I’ve been using Wave this year, I do not have the numbers to subtract out shipping costs and fees. I have a total number from eBay and I have the total that made it to my bank account from Wave. I also don’t have a total from Etsy. I could download the information, add it up, and come up with the same number that Wave tells me I made. Instead, I fudged it. It is a real number; just not calculated the way it should be.
My highest sale this past week was a collectable Jewish prayer book for Passover. The first night is Wednesday, and, while the buyer is relatively close to me, I’m not sure whether he’ll get it in time for his seder. Hopefully, it is just something he wants to display.
I did have a good week. Several higher ticket items sold.

BTW, I did watch Jay’s interview with Not Your Dad’s CPA. I remember NYDC’s SL interview from years ago (or, maybe I watched it after it was mentioned on the Podcast). Anyway, it’s very neat that he basically made his career focus from that interview!!

Judaica items always sell well for us. We always grab them at yard sales.

Number of items listed this week: 11Slow week but had one really good sale. It sold super quickly so I probably should have put in on auction, but still a great profit. I have a lot of random outside Ebay stuff going on but also took some tv down time this week. Hoping to get on more consistent listing schedule while my daughter is back to school and as soon as the bathroom remodel is finally finished. I failed last week to get to a box of church sale pottery – the last of my recent shopping hauls.
I heard that Mercari is super slow since they had to raise shipping rates in February. They are probably no longer supplementing labels. Bummer because I like to unload our household better clothing on there. I have three more big bins in our bedroom from the closet clean outs and I suppose I’ll just go forward with listing them anyway.
I also read an article this week about Amazon starting to creep away from free shipping. Last Christmas a lot of retailers moved away from free returns. So hopefully Ebay will let up asking small sellers to do this.
Hope everyone has a good week. Jay I enjoyed listening to you on the tax program.

Monthly numbers: 03/1 – 03/31
Total listings: 1536
Items sold: 37
Sales: $780.20
Highest price sold: $84 – Tilley Cap
Average price sold: $21.09
Cost of items sold: $115.42 / average cost: 3.12 each
Spent on new inventory: $34.00
Number of items listed: 103
I had a lot of “no sale” days in March and my numbers reflect that as I didn’t make my monthly goal of at least $1000. At least I finally made it to over 1500 listings. My highest price sold, a Tilley Cap, was a nice find at an estate sale for $5. At the time, I had no idea about Tilley but I purchased it due to the look and that it was made in Canada. It turned out to be a discontinued style and I sold it at my asking price of $84.

Listing 2023 weekly Avg 22Ooof, slow week. A $100 toner sale this weekend saved me from total doom/gloom. I did do a bit of ebay work this week. I ended/sell similar 10 old items – a couple sold too. When I did that I realized that ebay just ended a listing instead of deleting it for a listing violation. I was able to fix/relist. Yay! It was for some RA beetle traps. Ebay now requires the EPA info on the packaging to be entered as an item specific. They didn’t require that when I initially listed the item.
Went to Columbus this weekend before baseball takes completely over. Did some scavenging but didn’t find anything earth shattering – mainly just shoes. I was extra picky above/beyond my scavenging rules this trip since I’m not really listing right now.
The shipping guy at my day job gave me four GIANT rolls of 6″ wide bubble wrap. They’ve been sitting on a shelf in their warehouse for a long time and he was spring cleaning. These rolls are about 3′ in diameter.
Now I just need to sell more stuff to use all this bubble wrap.
