The Blaupunkt – What a beautiful radio, Steve! I’ve had vintage/antique radios, test/measuring equipment, tool boxes, etc. made with beautiful wood. Just ordinary useful things that were packaged like art. I suppose you could buy similar items today, but I think you pay much more of a premium price compared to what you would have paid back then.
In May, I finally listed a large quantity of silver plate that had become a death pile. I found two sets of flatware, each full service for 12, that I decided to list as complete sets. The first sold right away. This second set sold for $97.50, paid about $10.
I purchased this laptop desk for about $3 in an auction a couple of years ago. I finally lowered the price maybe a year ago, and it finally sold on offer for $28.75. Part of the issue is how big it is, which made the shipping expensive.
I’m always talking about friends of my parents who clean up or downsize and just give me stuff. Here are two items that sold quickly after being listed. A two piece pin consisting of a t-shirt and pants for $21, and a pharmacy office figurine for $23.
thanks to you I’m always looking for rotary phones and old mail boxes. so far have not found any 🙁
I was out of town for a trade show this week. So nice to be out and about for 4 days and talk to people face to face! Unfortunately that meant I needed to get stuff packed and mailed quickly and I forgot to make a video.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/194286776806 Waterfowlers Journal by Ducks Unlimited, new in package. Great story on this…I was about to leave an estate sale and remembered I needed to start tracking mileage. I saw this journal still wrapped and as it was sunday afternoon and the place was well picked through I figured it would be a dollar at most. They wanted four bucks but cooler heads prevailed and I paid a dollar. I got in the car and was about to open it but thought maybe I should check ebay first and thank the Lord I did! Very hard to find item and one comparable was up for sale for $90! I sold this through a best offer of $65!
