Hi–Twice this week I’ve made a sale but not been notified through email. I only happened to be on my Sold page and saw them. This is so unusual. I doubt that I deleted the email, as I am scrupulous about noting each one in my inbox. Has this happened to anyone else?

I’ve talked to some of my unpaid item buyers and they tell me they get no notification that their offer turned into a sale.
It’s all so random that it is difficult to determine how to report it in a way that will result in a fix.

I would double check your spam filter to make sure it hasn’t decided out of the blue that eBay emails are spam and also your eBay account settings for notification preferences in case something got changed and if neither of those are the problem, you could at least try calling eBay.

On another note: We stopped getting the cha-ching sounds on our eBay phone apps months ago.

I tried to set up a new non-business account on eBay a few weeks back, using a British Telecom email address. I had to change the email address to a Gmail account, because none of the verification emails from eBay came through, not even as chopped mixture of pork and ham in nourishing marrowbone jelly. Seems to me that the fault lies either in the settings for the email account or the internet provider rather than eBay.

I have a gmail account. Thing is, I’m getting sales notifications most of the time; it missed letting me know about these 2, seperately.

Hmm… I haven’t listed anything on my eBay/Gmail account but I get regular emails from eBay suggesting things for me to buy. I have problems with my selling account- not getting emails when something is sold, but that’s a BT email.

Apparently, along with all the tweaking, eBay has made some major changes to its app. I found out two days ago that you need to uninstall your old eBay app, clear your cache (do a restart) and then install it again. That should give you all the bells and whistles and return your cha-ching!
For eBay, open your eBay page on your computer and do a hard refresh of that page
“Normally, if the browser loads a website and detects a change, it will fetch a new version of the site from the remote web server and replace the cache. But the process is not perfect, and sometimes your browser may end up with a local copy of the website data in your browser cache that doesn’t match the latest version on the server. As a result, a web page may look incorrect or not function properly.
To fix this, you need to force the web browser to discard what it already has in the cache and to download the latest version of the site. Many people call this a “hard refresh.”
There are multiple ways to do the same action:
Chrome, Firefox, or Edge for Windows: Press Ctrl+F5 (If that doesn’t work, try Shift+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R).
Chrome or Firefox for Mac: Press Shift+Command+R.
Safari for Mac: There is no simple keyboard shortcut to force a hard refresh. Instead, press Command+Option+E to empty the cache, then hold down Shift and click Reload in the toolbar.
Safari for iPhone and iPad: There is no shortcut to force a cache refresh. You’ll have to dig into settings to erase your browser’s cache. After you perform the hard refresh, you should see the web page go blank, and the reloading process will take longer than usual. That’s because the browser is redownloading all of the data and images on the site.
If forcing a refresh didn’t fix the issue, you can try to do a hard refresh again. If that doesn’t help, the issue may be with the website itself—or your browser may need an update. Good luck!”

I use the Activity Monitor program on the Mac for clearing out Safari caches and Google Chrome helpers.
