My big sale last week was a vintage electrical beer sign that I bought for $11.50 and sold for $99. Unfortunately, it was damaged during shipping, and I have to submit a FedEx claim.
I stockpiled flatware for the past year and finally listed it all. The first to sell was two sets of tablespoons and one set of soup spoons of a silver plate pattern called Deauville. Total was $57. The most expensive item was the set of 7 bouillon soup spoons for $33.
I sold another painting for $56 from my art purchase a few months ago. This one is damaged, but large. I’ve basically taken all the COGS from that purchase now, so this is just free money.

My daughter’s was virtual and she came home to watch from here but my son’s was in-person with activities over a 3 day period so fortunately my wife and I didn’t have to split up to cover Mass and Florida.

It took a little research for me to identify the relatively uncommon Ryan aircraft pictured in this WWII-era postcard of an aerial shot over the San Diego Civic Center but I think it helped me get $20 for it. It was $2 at a flea market. https://imgur.com/EWBso9r

This cute little souvenir pin is originally from Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana and sold for $25 plus shipping. It was about $1 as one of a handful of smalls picked out of a flea market dealer’s box. Vintage souvenir items from less popular attractions will sell but are usually long tail. This one surprised me by selling within a week or two. I don’t bother with most items from popular places because there’s too much competition for only a mediocre sell-through rate. https://imgur.com/txRCXtf
This is a 1954–1955 yearbook from the US Army 187<sup>th</sup> Airborne Regimental Combat Team stationed in Japan. This had a couple strikes against it: It did not contain full unit rosters with soldiers’ names and photos, it was from a peacetime period after the Korean War and before the Vietnam War (though conflict there did begin in 1955), and the cover was stained. There is intense competition nowadays at yard sales and flea markets for movies but I was lucky to pick up this sealed Blu Ray of a Harrison Ford double feature for 50 cents at a yard sale. It sold quickly for $27.55 with free shipping. https://imgur.com/dhB8kY6
another solid couple weeks of sales. of the 16 items sold about half were things from my comics and toy collection and the other half are items from estate sales. I did try out a garage sale recently, turned out it was the remains of an estate sale from a month prior. the owners were trying to get rid of the leftovers so everything was a dollar.

Still in the original plastic case and even has the original cash register receipt! This came from an estate sale in a box full of someone’s travel keepsakes. Paid $10 for the entire box and with this sale of $18.50 I’m up to over a hundred dollars on the box with still about 90% of it left.

So far most of what I’ve looked up and listed are common except for this one which is a bit rarer. I’ve had this since new and sold for $24. I have one of those cases that holds 50 or 60 cassettes. Ironically I had it in my hand to throw away last year but ended up taking it back into the house. Suppose that was the right move.

I happened to be at an estate sale in a very wealthy part of town. I was about to leave empty handed but thought I’d take a quick spin through the master bedroom closet. Spotted these shoes and thought they looked pretty cool (and they were my size!). A quick search showed they sell in the low hundreds new and these appeared to have never been worn so I grabbed them for $5. They just sold with an offer at $132. that’s my big winner of the week.
