We know many eBayers work alone and struggle with feeling sluggish/depressed. It’s easy to lose perspective when all eBay feels like is endless listing. Running a successful eBay business also means handling a hundred tiny details each and every day that must be done correctly or problems start occurring that become difficult to unwind.
So today we go full blown Oprah and talk about Relationships. Especially our relationship (Ryanne and Jay). We talk about how we started working together, how we figured out how to split up the work and how we maintain a sane personal and working relationship.
Working together certainly makes business sense: allows exponentially more work to be done, helps us maintain perspective on bad customers, one person can pick up the energy when the other person is slowing down, gives you someone else to have fun with and enjoy success.
But running an eBay business with your partner can also cause stress and inevitably lead to arguments. Egos get involved. The boundary between work and personal time disappears.
Maybe you’ve thought about going full time and bringing your partner into the mix? Or maybe you already work with your significant other running a business? We’d love to hear from you.
