Two weeks ago, I said something about being the only one to post, so a people stepped up. Then, last week, I was again the only one to post! Come on, Steve does this week after week for us! We need more participation here!!
A few weeks ago, I posted on the forum asking for Worthpoint pricing help on a set of sterling shot glasses from Peru. The value was much higher than I realized, so I went and polished them and took new photos. I received an offer within an hour of listing for $80. I bought these in an online auction lot with other items for less than $3, so I paid very little for them. I did have to buy another little bottle tester for silver ($8) as the one I had was old and the test results were not conclusive.

In September 2019, I purchased a large lot of vintage radios, which I have been listing and selling since. I’ve finally listed all the items, and most of what remains are bedside radios in partially working or non-working condition. Although this radio only partially works, the cream color is rare and brought the price up to $32.

For some reason, Feb 3 was designated Linen Day. First, I sold a set of drapes for $84, then the matching bed spread for $43 to someone else, and then a blanket for $22. The drapes & bed spread set came from an online auction for the contents of a closet of linens. I paid about $2 for the whole thing and have already sold a couple things from that lot. I bought the blanket a few years ago for about $1 and put it in my closet, but recently I was looking for some room in said closet and decided to list the blanket.

This is a small thing, but I thought I’d share it with you. This 1969 brochure is called “A Women’s Guide to Football” came in an auction lot with other items. Sold right before the Super Bowl for $8 with two pieces of artwork. I recall, back in the day, we would watch the Super Bowl with my grandparents, and all the women would congregate in a different room. However, I was born and raised on the Steelers, so I vaguely keep track of how the season is going and always watch the Super Bowl!

That was a really cool Zenith clock radio model I have not seen before, they’re usually flip number, probably old grease gumming up the rolling numbers

Probably. At one time, I was going to figure out how to fix those, but then I got a part time job. I’m just glad to get decent money for something not perfectly working.
I’m still planning to repair that vintage JC Penney record stereo system I mentioned to you months ago, but I’ve got too many easier death piles to get to first. Maybe this year?

This is a neat unused 1954 notebook calendar that would have been available for purchase by sailors at the ship’s store on the Midway-class aircraft carrier USS CORAL SEA at the time. It came with a boxed CORAL SEA cruise book from the same year that I picked up years ago. It sold for $60 plus shipping.
This consignment US Navy challenge coin is from Special Warfare Unit 3 in Bahrain. It does not have the fancy colors and designs that many of the better-selling coins do but it is uncommon and the SEAL connection helped me get $125 for it plus shipping.
Another US Navy item, this is a wall plaque from the USS KISKA, a fleet oiler, circa 1990. Plaques such as this are given to departing crewmembers as a going-away gift. A small brass plate would have been affixed wishing them “fair winds and following seas” or something similar. It sold for $50 plus shipping.
When I found this large metal vase in the shape of a horse’s head at Goodwill for $13 several years ago I thought it was the perfect Hollywood Regency living room accessory and priced it high. Unfortunately there was very little interest in it and I lose patience with large items like this so I kept dropping the price. It sold on a best offer for $12 plus shipping. Somehow eBay’s fickle shipping label calculator overcharged the buyer by $7 more than I had to pay for a FedEx Home label so I about broke even on the deal.
This interesting large framed print from 1936 featuring a map of the campus of Harvard University was issued in honor of the 300th anniversary of its founding in 1636. It was a family item and sold for $200 plus shipping.
This was another remnant from my childhood that turned up in my dad’s estate a while back. Not many of these tiny HO OO scale toy soldier Airfix Attack Force Jeep and Trailer sets survived from the ’60’s, hence the $96 plus shipping I was able to get for it. It went back to the UK where Airfix toys are big.
