I just received a $14.00 cost adjustment (charge) on an underpayment, on a USPS package I sent.
They are stating one of my dimensions is 13 inches, instead of the 8 inches I paid for. My dimensions are correct.
I sent in the dispute form today.
Have any of you, disputed these charges and won? It’s not the end of the world, but I actually chose USPS over a cheaper carrier due to convenience.
Thanks

I did a few months ago, but haven’t heard one way or the other. As far as I know, they haven’t denied it.
It was similar in my case, they said that one dimension was a few inches longer than what I paid for. I’m pretty careful that way, but it is possible that I made a mistake this once. However, in this case, the priority package took a full month to get to its destination, and eBay forced the refund to the buyer.
I’m not sure when I will have time to call (and that is what they are hoping for). I’ll update status when I do.

The Post Office says I’ll hear back in two to five business days.
I filed the dispute via Email.
The money has already been taken from Paypal.
The box was 7 inches wide, but bulging a little which is what made it 8. An inch more I can maybe understand, but 5 inches is crazy, unless something happened to the package during transit.
Anyways, I’ll post if I hear anything back.
Thanks

Related to this, I’ve had something weird happen around a half dozen times over the last couple months. I will receive an email out of the blue from PayPal titled “Refund in your eBay Dispute Case”, despite the fact that I’ve never actually opened a case. The email will say that eBay has ruled in my favor in a shipping label dispute case for some incidental amount of money (typically less than $3 and always less than the cost of even the cheapest shipping label) and the amount has been credited back to my credit card. I have no idea what these emails are related to, but my theory is that USPS is trying to come back and charge me for packages with the “incorrect” weight or dimensions and eBay rules against them automatically in my favor. Has anyone else had a similar situation occur?

Actually, I have seen this several times as well. I assumed that the USPS determined that the package was lighter than the rate I paid, so they were returning the overage. Often, I round up when I buy my labels.
For instance, if the weight is 12 oz, I might pay the 15 oz assuming that the label and tape is going to bring it over the 12 oz range. However, the USPS scale might measure it at 12 oz, and the system automatically refunds the difference.
Just a guess. I have no idea.

Wow, I just listened to the podcast and heard than Ryanne is having a similar charge to an item shipped to California. My package was shipped to Eureka CA 95503, which is up north, close to Oregon.
What part of the state did your package ship to Ryanne? I’m curious if maybe a particular facility is causing these adjustments.
By the way, I received an automated response from USPS to my dispute,
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”>”To whom it may concern:</span>
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”> Thank you for your email. The USPS Verify Postage Help team has received your email regarding a potential dispute of shortpaid label charges. We are now in the process of evaluating the claims. This process can take up to two weeks. A decision will be submitted to the PC Postage entity through which the original label was printed, and any potential refunds should be posted to your account directly by that PC Postage entity based on the USPS decision.</span>
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”> Due to COVID-19 USPS has received an unprecedented volume of inquires that have unfortunately delayed our response times beyond our normal service levels. We do apologize for the delays and thank you for your patience during these difficult times and for your business”</span>
Oh well, life goes on.
