For those who like to keep up with ebay changes, you might want to set aside some time tomorrow to review the Fall Seller Update, which will be released at 9AM PT (Noon ET) according to today’s ebay for Business Podcast:
Wednesday, September 9th at 9:00 AM Pacific, eBay will release the fall 2020 Seller Update. There’s going to be lots of information in the update and you won’t want to miss it. So stay tuned to the eBay Seller News Announcement Board on the eBay community tomorrow morning for details….. I should also mention that next week. We’ll have someone from the update team right here on the podcast to help answer the top questions from sellers this week.

And don’t forget that more and new changes are coming to the Item Specifics area and hard goods, home decor, home and garden and several others are mentioned as getting changes.
Hope they don’t mess it up as bad as when they did this to the clothing categories about a year ago.
The tech team for the third party listing software we use said they are already making the coding changes in preparation and there are many and they are already having some issues with the Ebay API team.
So here we go again, and at the start of 4th quarter and with a bunch of sellers being moved over to Managed Payments.
Lot’s of stuff, we just have to be flexible and change with the times. Ebay is still a large platform for resellers.

Yeah, item specifics is pretty much a given. The only other thing I’m pretty certain of is that they’ll announce a change to Vacation settings. Other than that, it’s just wait-and-see time. Frankly, I’m not expecting anything really awful, and maybe some good stuff. Or at least neutral stuff LOL

Not sure Ill tune into the play by play, but I am interested to see nay changes.
Would be great if they had a vacation setting that changed your handling time.

I usually cringe when I see a Seller update. I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The last several have actually been positive for sellers, the Fall 2020 one included. I do have to wonder though if there is a luxury watch lobby I didn’t know existed. Seems odd that so much effort and a rate reduction was put into a random and probably pretty niche category.

My favorite by far is “Automatically set up and send ‘Offers to buyers'”: “The new feature will also help you save time and steps by enabling you to continuously send offers to new and existing buyers.”
Maybe a bit worried about this teaching buyers to wait for deals to come along, but I do get quite a few sales by sending offers.
Looks like UPS might be a new contender for shipping?
Also some stuff re: vacation mode: “The Time Away functionality replaces our vacation settings and is available to all eBay sellers. When you need to take time away from running your eBay business, you can schedule a break using these settings.”
Good stuff all around.

The increase in free listing subscriptions was what I found interesting. No need to level up to a larger store any more.
