Can someone give me a link to a video on how exactly to add Global Shipping to your listings? I show I’m enrolled in GSP and clicked in the box when I filled out the international shipping in my listing (also chose to send Priority International). I must have missed something because the label printed out with all the customs forms and addressed to the buyer’s address in Denmark, not Kentucky. Also, do I affix the three pages of customs forms to the package? I’m thinking it’s supposed to go into one of those plastic pouches with adhesive on the back but I don’t have those. I was thinking I could use a zip lock bag instead.

Actually I’m thinking it needs to be the USPS pouch so I’ll have hubby pick some up tomorrow and I ordered some from the USPS website. Still need to figure out what I’m missing in my listings so I can send them to Kentucky. I saw a video that mentioned the Advanced Listing Tool but I didn’t see that option in the listing. Thanks for your help.

This is what the International Shipping section looks like in my listings – I only use GSP and do not ship direct.

Ok I figured out what I did. I clicked in the GSP box but instead of putting “None” under other shipping options I put International Priority. So when I sell something under GSP will the label automatically print with the address to Kentucky?

Yes – you just ship to Kentucky and then it’s out of your hands, which is very nice. eBay charges the buyer a lot for that service, so you may lose some international sales but I think it’s nice. Though right now with the COVID crisis I have changed my business policy to include international shipping to Canada – since Canadians are currently having a difficult time crossing the border to pick up packages at their US address. Several have asked if I could ship direct to them, and so I just turned that on. But all other international shipping for me goes through Kentucky. I will say it takes forever – but buyers don’t seem to complain to me about it (at least I haven’t noticed anything).

I am scared to go to GSP on items because the only item I shipped got caught by customs b/c in the post I said it had mother of pearl inlay. They were right to stop it, but now I’m scared I might try to sell something on the “no no” list again and I haven’t taken the time to figure out if there is one master list or do I have to check every country before I put it on GSP. I am sure I am making it out to be much more difficult than it really is, but still don’t need another one getting taken.

Why be scared. eBay made you whole on that sale even if the item was pulled by customs. That’s the beauty (and point) of GSP. You’re fully protected as soon as it’s delivered to the eBay warehouse.

I know it is completely irrational, but I am just spooked. For one thing, even though we all got refunded, there is a part of me that is disappointed that the item was just trashed. I spent time researching and shipping etc and then it’s gone. This might also be because this item was one of my first big finds. Not big by your standards, but the first item I stumbled across by accident. The person ended up giving me a neutral feedback because it was held at customs. eBay removed the feedback without me even asking. Like I said, I’m being completely unreasonable (which I know) but I am going to attempt it again.
