I’m amazed every day that I get a sale. I guess I didn’t expect anyone would be buying anything non-essential (even online) for awhile due to economic uncertainty, even for those with guaranteed full time employment. Lucky for us, some people are still shopping. My sales are down 45% but I’m happy and amazed to have sold 12 items this week.

I’ve sold 2 different budget planners to 2 different buyers this week – makes sense.

I’ve been selling a lot of drawer knobs over the last few weeks after having them in inventory forever. I guess people are finishing their furniture projects while idle at home.

My highest price sale this week was a NWT Reformation Dress sold on best offer for $75. Based on the cheap feel of the fabric I did not expect it to be a valued brand, I was wrong.

A single pair of Polo Ralph Lauren socks sold for $26. Am amazed what people will pay for socks.

If you’re desperate for inventory, check your closet. I sold a 7 piece lot of used swimsuits that I haven’t worn in nearly a decade for $20. I didn’t even bother to take very nice pics of them but someone still bought them.

Steve, I think I had that green matchbox when I was a kid. I loved that car. I had a pretty good week last week and had some really interesting sales.

I got a box of these vintage USPS numbered keys at a garage sale for $5. The owner insisted that I take them – she said her husband used to sell them on eBay and made lots of money with them. I tried listing a few of them singly just to see if they got views. They were dead. A few weeks ago, I found a listing where they were sold in a lot with all the numbers printed in the listing. I cannot remember where I learned that vintage catalogs are desirable, but right before Colorado closed down, I grabbed a box full of manuals, hang tags and catalogs collected from the 1980s. This 1983 Marmot catalog (and another Marmot sleeping bag catalog) sold in less than 24 hours. After running low on inventory, I grabbed some stuff around the house including this huge & heavy stoneware bowl. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193385409631 I double boxed it and put it in a double heavy cardboard box. Buyer paid shipping almost as much as the cost of the bowl.

I started selling on FB Marketplace for the first time and unloaded some really heavy bulky stuff – a double sleeping bag, 20 lbs of Lego, a dog crate,a bicycle trainer and a bunch of puzzles. I just listed more puzzles (increase my price a little since there are no more puzzles for sale in my town) and am going to go looking for more stuff to list.

Steve – During your video, I kept hearing background noises that I thought were coming from outside our house. In the past, hardly anyone was walking around during the day, but now I can’t believe how many neighbors I see around (all keeping their 6 ft distance, of course).

One thing I do a few times a year is pick out items that haven’t sold for some time and put them on perpetual auctions until I decide to donate. I can’t donate right now, so they keep getting re-listed. Sales on these auctions have improved slightly with the quarantine, and I sold two items last week at OK prices. Usually these are items that I am trying to get rid of for less than $10, but I sold a sweater for $12 and 4 metal teapots for $22.

From one of my parents’ downsizing friends, I received this electric hair clipper set for free, sold for $20. I had a bunch of electric hair clippers and accessories that I listed a few weeks ago, and they have all sold. With all the salons and barbershops closed, maybe people (at least guys) are doing it themselves.

The rest of my good sales were from auction purchases I’ve talked about in the past, vintage scales, old tools, vintage drafting pen parts, and jewelry on commission.

It’s been a while but I finally have some solds to share. This week has been good for sales.

Paid $3-4 Christmas in April at $109! Stocking kit I don’t craft but these kits are my favorite thing to sell. They always sell if at least the size of a piece of paper and so easy to list and ship. Also sold two of these cat kits.

Did not particularly enjoy listing this 80s fabric last week but it paid off. Paid .99-2.99 per piece and the same buyer bought 5 for a total of $112 to make curtains. Pulling more fabric from my piles to list soon, plus I have more of this kind to list. I think I must have looked it up before I bought it.

I fairly often find vintage NOS tablecloths in the package. It was pretty plain but so took a while but sold this one to a prop house for $40. I put prop in the description. The more retro floral ones can really set a 60s or 70s vibe.

I keep an eye out for vintage paper doll books as they fetch about $10.
