I received the following message yesterday but I don’t know to which listings they are referring. I don’t see anything on my dashboard or active listings page that would indicate a problem.
“Some of your listings need to be updated in order to comply with eBay policies or security changes.
What do you need to do?
We’ve identified the listings that need to be changed to meet our updated standards.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.Sincerely,
eBay Seller Team” -

Try looking in your Seller Hub, in either “Tasks” pr “Growth”…

Was this an eMail message? There are a lot of phishing scams, some of which can look very genuine. Don’t click on any links and if you did and then signed in you need to change your password immediately. Any legit notifications from eBay will also be in your eBay messages.

There is nothing in my Tasks and the two things in growth have to do with changing price suggestions.
Yes, it was an email message that looks legit.

Without seeing your message I can’t be sure if it is legit, but I have received email messages that are from eBay with that same text, identifying my listings that eBay thinks are missing product identifiers or that should have their “catalog” link. There was a link in the message to the listing they thought needed updating. For me it’s been just eBay trying to put the square peg of a vintage item listing into the round hole of the Amazon-like commodity platform features. I’ve ignored them.

I received the exact same message yesterday, and under the text “We’ve identified listings that need to be revised”, there was a problem with the link they included, which was:
The first problem with the link is that whatever image was supposed to be displayed in the message did not display, and then when I click on the link it just ended up at the ebay home page. And it didn’t prompt me to log in or anything.
I have no pending tasks either and my growth recommendations have to do with “underperforming” listings, not security.
So I’m just going to ignore it.
Thanks for posting – it’s good to know that I’m not the only one. -

I received the same thing today. Like you, the link just took me to the ebay home page.

I received the same message with a link that just sent me to the ebay homepage. It came through ebay messages. Checked Seller Hub, and it appears there is no way to act on this.

Yeah, I’d ignore. Or call eBay and asked them directly.

I ended up contacting the “ebay for business” folks on FB. Their response:
Hello! Thanks for letting us know about this. We have had a few other contacts regarding this email too. We have reached out to the proper team for more info but as of now, it sounds like this email was sent in error. If there is anything that needs to be updated, you will see a task in your seller hub. We appreciate you being proactive about this and apologize for the inconvenience. I hope you enjoy your weekend. ~Kirsten
So I guess I’ll just go ahead and ignore the second exact same email message I received a few minutes ago 🙂

Sonia thank you for taking the time to contact eBay directly. It is nice to know that it was just an error and not a scam.
