Any other Six Bit users discovering that the description section has vanished from their ebay listings on a PC? Some of mine are gone, some aren’t, but they seem to be showing OK on Mobile.
Anyone?

We just saw this just now. Checked the PC and no listing description. Ebay opened a ticket on it.
Our rep didn’t say anything about it being a SixBit issue. Did yours?

Just did a test and this is an eBay issue. When you click to revise your item ON EBAY, your data is there. It is just not showing to the buyer or when you click on the listing.
I clicked to Revise this on eBay and it STILL doesn’t show up. So that data is there, just not displaying to the buyer…

I haven’t talked to ebay about it. I really haven’t had time. I did find this on a Facebook Group, but haven’t tried it yet. This is from a Six Bit employee apparently:
“Due to a new development with eBay that we are currently investigating, new listings are going up to eBay without the Description.
In SixBit, click File > Options > Submitting Listings and uncheck the option to “Set the contents of the Description field as the default mobile description.”
New listings should go up with the correct HTML. Existing affected listings should be fixed by highlighting them in the Check Listings > Running mode and right-click Send Revisions to Site.”
Thank you,
Clay McCarty
SixBit Customer SupportSo it sounds like this may be an ebay issue impacting Six Bit, but which also may be impacting other sellers, I don’t know. My better half doesn’t use SixBit and she hasn’t seen the issue with her listings, which leads me to believe it may be confined to Six Bit. But I don’t know for sure.
Keep us posted if you hear back from eBay. I have to get to the shipping right now, and just don’t have time to fool with this. Hoping eBay corrects it on their end without me needing to do anything, but that hope is probably misplaced LOL.

MyCottage:
I am using the info from your post and sending Revisions to site. Seems to be fixing them.
Thanks.-

@MyCottage: Thanks for all this! I did a test on one and that revision works.
What concerns me is that I’m at least 600 listings in and I still don’t see Item Descriptions. I may have to revise all.
How long has this been an issue? Did they say?

Yep, was on every…single…listing….
And now all the soft errors for not having Size, Department, etc because eBay screwed up the Item Specifics.
So…with eBay making the change and screwing up the Item Description for SixBit listings, then screwing up the Item Specifics…no wonder we are at a lower STR than what we should be.
Because what I really want to do in Q4 is to REDO ALL MY LISTINGS ONE BY ONE SO THAT THEY COMPLY WITH THEIR CHANGES AND GET SOLD!!!!
rant over…

That’s exactly what I was seeing. And, as i said, in the couple examples I checked, it wasn’t showing up on my PC but was showing up OK on my phone. So, yeah, I think the problem originates with ebay…

I have no idea how long it has been an issue. I just tried revising some of mine, and the SixBit fix worked. But the rest will have to wait till tomorrow some time.
Let us know if ebay gets back to you on this. It would be really nice to hear them say:”Problem was on our end. we fixed it, no need to do anything.”
Hay, a man can dream, can’t he?

Oh man, so sorry to hear about this new headache…
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Ebay gets fast and efficient feedback when they screw up things for sellers.
What about buyers? If ebay has screwed up something on the buyers front end that prevents them from buying, they won’t get feedback. The buyer just goes elsewhere. This is what scares me the most.
I currently have a potential buyer in France that wants to buy my item but they can’t. I have no way to help them.-

What messed with us is that we had NO IDEA this was an issue until a buyer messaged us. He was asking for measurements that we knew we had in the Item Description. When we went there to answer him, no data. Veronica called eBay and they saw the issue and logged it.
I happened to check Scavenger Life to see if anyone knew (and to let folks know if they didn’t), and lo and behold MyCottage was ahead of us on this.
Thanks again MyCottage.
Good news was that the fix was quick, just make the changes, select all listings, and revise.
But still…

I fixed some last night, and let the rest ride. Went sourcing and choring this morning, came home, and , to my astonishment, the descriptions seem to have magically re-appeared. So either eBay or Six Bit must have done something to get this taken care of.
But between this and the Item Specific screw up, it doesn’t exactly bode well for Q4 sales…..
