There may be a major glitch when you resist unsold items …

Not sue of this specific glitch, but I think errors can happen when people end and relist. There have been other reports of listings disappearing, quantity added, etc.

I’ve seen that issue when I’ve created and submitted a new listing. I use “sell similar” with a current listing and create a draft. After I change and submit the new listing, sometimes the draft is still there. So far, I think I’ve noticed them each time and deleted them from drafts. I just considered it another eBay glitch and didn’t think much about it.

I find if I end an item early, the item I ended shows up under the category “unsold”. This is different than “drafts”. If you relist an unsold item – I don’t think it automatically clears out of the “unsold cue”.

When you end an item and sell similar from the “ended listings”, it is not removed from the “ended listings”.

You need to manually delete the items from your “ended listings” after relisting as “sell similar.

If you don’t manually delete the items from the “ended listings” it creates a real mess when you end more listings to “sell similar”.

I don’t believe this is what’s going on with the original posting, but though I’d add it.

To keep track of things, I run split screens when ending listings and doing “sell similar”.

I’ve had several cases of drafts being created/saved when making listings and/or editing listings in the past week. It gets very confusing. And it seems that eBay stopped warning of duplicate listings over a year ago. Maybe several years ago. I haven’t gotten a duplicate listing warning in years, though I’ve found accidental duplicates (as result of auto-saved drafts that I relisted, not realizing I’d already submitted them).

I’ve been having the issue where we create a draft and then when I come back later and submit it to make it live, the draft gets left behind so I have delete the draft as a separate step. This probably happens about 60% of the time. I posted here on the S.L forums about this a while back.

In the past few months I think, Griff talked about the eBay issues with resisting. He said something about the fact that relisted items don’t go through the duplicate check, so you can relist something several times and then have more than one of the same thing for sale.

As a result, for quite some time I’ve been using the link that Simon shared above. About once a month or so I just check my store to make sure I don’t have any duplicates. Especially after adding a bunch of new things. Sometimes things sit in the queue for a while, and I forget if they have been listed or not. It happens, easy to do. So it’s nice to have a tool to be able to recognize that and fix it. With that, sometimes things that go through the whole unpaid item assistant process end up being listed a second time, as it generates an ended listing but also typically relists the item for you. If you forget and then relist that ended listing, you end up with a duplicate.

I’ve had trouble for years with items that have recently sold showing up in drafts. I dont use drafts much so it is easy to notice them and delete them. Never bothered to report it since ebay is full of bugs.
