Ok, it took me 40ish hours to manually add all of my specifics back in. I had a string of days with sales around $40 per day with most of them being offers to watchers. No best offers. No organic sales at all in the clothing/shoe categories. Last night I completed adding the specifics and today I am back to offers and organic sales. $300 so far today which is about right for this time of year. I don’t know if it’s my work or eBay’s that things are back on track again, but I am seeing a huge uptick in sales/offers.

We’ve sold about $100 in clothign today which is good for us. We didnt do any changes.
Not saying your work didnt help you, but I think eBay is rolling back some of the problems they caused.

I guess we will never know, but either way it works for me. 🙂

Thanks AtomicStar, guess what just happened to me? I was in dialogue with a higher up from the eBay community earlier in dealing with this fiasco..In a nutshell, they seem pretty clueless and my intuition tells me that no fix from their end is happening any time soon..they stated that the update announcement is now coming later tonight, lol, we shall see..
So, I just went into my eBay store, and selected a pair of shoes that did not appear to need revision..my eBay app does not have it highlighted as missing any details, and it looked fine, but when I did a search using the brand, size, and width from the left hand item specifics column, it did not show at all in search..neither did hundreds of others under that brand..
So, I went in and revised it as it was indeed missing size & width after all, waited ten minutes, and now it is showing in search..guess I know what I’ll be doing wee into the morning, hell, it’s basically just like listing new inventory, simply making your items searchable once again!!
Thanks for your post!
Kind Regards,
Rick

I’m still confused as to why they stripped away the size type for shoes. Many shoes have up to 4 different sizes in them. It’s kinda important to know which one. There is US mens, US womens, US Big Kids, US Toddlers, EU, UK, JAP, CM….
Now we just have “Size” with no reference to which one. This does not seem well thought out at all.
Clothing can be the same way.
Back to the original idea of this thread. I’m conflicted as to whether I should start revising. I’ve resisted so far. They claimed in their update last night that they will roll out their fix to copy over the info on Wednesday once they are done “testing”. Excuse me if I choke on their use of the word “testing”. I didn’t think they knew what that word is!

My confusion is this: we’re now selling clothes and shoes again. We’ve done nothing at all.
So when I see people say they feel they need to fidget with their listings, is this a fact or a feeling? It’s cool if it makes you feel in control but is it necessary?

That’s the million dollar question, Jay. All I can say is that I went from $40ish days back to my normal $200-$400 after I fixed my listings. That said, I rely on these sales as my full time income and without that income I cannot make my son’s college tuition payment. So I jumped on fixing this instead of waiting for eBay to do so. After the picture debacle, I don’t trust them.

Understood. Like I said, if it makes a seller feel in control, the seller should do what they need to.
Since clothes are your main source of sales + your high demand for money to pay for education, sounds like you did what was necessary.
I was just sharing a fact about our store and clothes now selling without us doing anything. I cringe when sellers start talking about the black magic they think they have over eBay.

It looks like they’re starting to mess with media now. I listed a few VHS tapes this morning and got error messages for not having 3 item specific fields filled in – language, studio and actor.
I did have a good laugh when I saw the most popular actor to be filled in is John Wayne. I think there are a lot of people that also don’t care and are just filling in John Wayne as actor for everything.
