Hello! I have been getting eaten alive by fees lately, and finally ran the numbers and realized that at 7000 inventory I have been way overdue to upgrade my store subscription. So I upgraded to anchor, and have questions about two of the perks I have been hearing about from the J&R store.
Promotional Listings – I understand that we get $25 in fee credits from anchor, and $30 from Top Rated Seller status. It seems like there isn’t a concrete way of measuring our credit balance, and the credits are supposed to apply in our invoices. Do I have that right? How do you guys measure how much you have remaining in credit?
Upgraded Customer Service – I remember you guys talking about something like getting a new dedicated customer service rep, and the eBay Subscription and Fees page says: “Both Anchor and Enterprise subscribers have access to dedicated customer support by phone or email, whenever they need.” I called Customer Service for the first time since upgrading stores, and the rep told me she wasn’t sure what this policy meant, since she helps all sorts of people. I did get through very quickly though, and she was particularly helpful otherwise. Does anyone know what the deal is? Are they just prioritizing our calls, like not sending our calls to the foreign call centers?

I just upgraded to anchor a few weeks ago. I don’t know about the fee credits, haven’t looked at that yet.
There is a dedicated number for Anchor Support. I ran into the same thing where the regular rep had no idea what I was talking about, so I had to search it out on Google and when I got through and confirmed it was Anchor Support the rep told me I should have received a welcome email with that information, which I definitely didn’t get. I don’t know if I can post that number here since this is a publicly viewable forum. Hopefully, someone else will jump in here and clarify that. I wish for a PM service on this forum.
I was surprised to learn that I could use the $150 shipping supplies coupon code right away, even though I had already used this quarter allowance for the previous store. Score! Don’t forget to do that before the end of the month, it’s coming up fast.

I ran a google search, and first result was a thread on this blog, haha. Thanks for the heads up.

Dont get too excited about Anchor Support. Its nice to have a dedicated number, but reps can be just as frustrating.
Question: does anyone know if the Promotional Listings credits are automatically credited? or do you have to manually “redeem” them each month?

Disclaimer: I don’t have an Anchor Store but what I’m about to say about Promotional Listings probably applies and does for Top Rated Seller status.
If you have Top Rated Seller status you get a $30 credit every quarter. So if I have in July $7.95 in fees paid for promoted listings, in August on my invoice I see this:
Miscellaneous credits
Aug 18 Invoice Credit etrs Promoted Listings Q2 Credit July transactions -$7.95So yes Jay you are charged for them in that month’s invoice but automatically credited the following month until the credit is maxed out. This is for my Top Rated Example and I assume it is the same each month in the Anchor Store. Someone else will have to confirm.
Also @DantheDiner asked if it keeps track of your credit used somewhere and the answer is no (in the above case they never tell me I have $22.05 left over to use for the rest of the quarter), but you can check yourself by:
First, go to the Marketing Tab on the Seller Hub page, and select Promoted listings. Then in the top right corner you will see Last 31 Days which is clickable. Do that and select custom. Then it gives you a starting and ending date. If you put the starting date in (say Sept 1 2019) and do nothing else, it’ll prefill today as the end date and give you a total. So for example for me from Sept 1 to today I have use a whopping $3.10 in promoted listing fees. If I look from July 1 to today I have used $18.30 of my allotted $30. So this info can be useful. For example, if I was at $29.89 and I wanted to turn off my promotions until the quarter ended, and not go over my credit, I could.
Hope that is clear and helps.

MickDog, this is some of then most useful info I’ve seen in a long time for eBay. I had no idea that info on Promoted Listings was there. Super helpful.
Since July 1,
–We’ve sold 187 items for about $6.5k through Promoted Listings.
–The ad fees were about $65.
–Our Top Rated Seller and Anchor Subscription gives us $60 in coupons to pay for Promoted Listings
–So we paid $5 to promote our store over the 3rd quarter.-

The unknown factor is how many sales $ there would be if paying a higher PL rate.

Or if we’d get these sales without Promoted Listings. Difficult to tell.
For us, its such a small amount of money after we use the credits we’ve earned, it’s a wash.

Jay, glad that is helpful to you! I usually start a quarter around 1% promoted and then increase it a couple times as the quarter goes to use up as much as my $30 quarterly credit allows. I’m at 1.7% now and normally would not do it again with 6 days left in the quarter. But I do have $12 in “credit”, so I think I’ll up my percentage for these last few days and see I can use up my free money.

Do we know if the unused Promoted Listing Credit rolls over to the next quarter?
Or is it use it or lose it?

Almost certain it is use it or lose it, at least for TRS status, again assuming it is the same for the anchor store perk. But I just did some searching I can’t find anywhere that confirms or denies this on ebay.

Mickdog, I want to second Jay’s sentiment. That’s remarkably useful; even anchor support rep didn’t know you could do something like that.
