Someone on Youtube left a coment that said:
FYI..used perfume can’t be sold on ebay anymore, either. At all. There’s a Facebook seller page (it’s called Camp ebay, I found it by accident) where used perfume was a topic of conversation this week, and one of the members had a direct email from an ebay employee who said in no uncertain terms that used perfume is no longer allowed.
All our used perfume is still for sale. Anyone try to list some used perfume recently?
Also, on a different note, ‘new without box’ shoes are now automatically switched to ‘new – open box’, which doesn’t really seem to fit as a description but I can confirm that it’s an active change. I sell new shoes with replacement boxes (returns, unworn, boxes too damaged to ship), and the item condition has been changed on ALL of them (not by me!).
This isnt as big of a deal to me, but is it true?
I asked the commenter for eBay links since any change should be documented on their website. Nothing yet.

Ebay has been doing alot of undocumented changes in the last few months. It is irritating!
Also, I have a 95% full bottle of Chanel I was just getting ready to list. Darn it!

Try listing the perfume and see what eBay allows. Im not certain this change is true. No one can shared an eBay link documenting the change.

Suzanne Wells just posted a video about this yesterday. Mass confusion all around. Someone from eBay for business on FB said NO, you can’t sell it. Guidelines posted on ebay website say yes you can. Some of SW’s commenters said their listings were taken down or they were prevented from listing either b/c “pre-owned” was no longer listed as an option, or others b/c when they went to click “list it”, the website wouldn’t let it go through. Others said they were able to list just fine. Others are posting in the Collectibles category. I just listed a used perfume item last night in the regular health-beauty/fragrance category as “pre-owned”, and it went through fine and hasn’t been taken down (yet).

Until its documented on eBay’s site as a prohibited item, Im not sure why these rumors start when all it takes is a simple test.

A number of people have done the simple test and have found it not to work for them.

I’m confused. You said you just listed a used perfume and it worked.

Yes, it worked for me – yay! But there are other people that it is not working for. Suzanne knows them personally from her group. And when they contacted ebay for business on FB, the folks there (who usually are way more helpful then regular CS reps) confirmed that used perfume is not allowed – and she showed a screenshot of this reply. I don’t find it hard to believe that different people are seeing different behavior from the ebay web site. But I would find it hard to believe that Suzanne is lying.

Understood. Not calling anyone a liar, but its not the first time a rumor has been stated as fact which turned out not to be true. When it comes to eBay, there’s a lot of emotional opinions about their service.
Confusing that you could list the used perfume and those people couldnt. Also confusing that eBay hasnt announced the change.
Thats all. Just confusing.

Yes – mass confusion was the point I was trying to get across in my first post on this topic.
