I have been having some success with the offers to watchers feature. However, I was wondering if anyone has tested what day is the best days to send offers. I thought I would take a little poll.
Do you send offers daily?
Do you send offers at the end of the week when most people get paid?
Or once a month at the end of the month?Inquiring minds want to know.

I usually send offers daily.
The best day for sales seems to change from month to month, year to year, so I expect that the best day to send offers would change as well.
Not everyone lives paycheck to paycheck, but many work during the weekdays and don’t find time to shop until the weekend. If you were interested in timing, you could wait until later in the week.
However, we don’t know eBay’s algorithm. The ability to send an offer to a watcher may drop off after a few days.

Those are all great points Sharyn.

I’ve sent out 50+ offers each of the last two weekends and have only gotten 3 responses and 0 sales. Slightly more success the weekend before with 2 sales out of 50 offers. I’ve tried it during the week in the past. It seems to be hit and miss no matter when you send offers. I think this feature has a lot of potential, but it is very easy for messages to get buried. I also don’t think 10 to 15 percent off makes much of an impact on what I sell. Maybe increasing the discount rate allows for more of an impact.
It’s also summer, which is probably the single biggest factor. This feature might prove to be really useful during the holidays.

I agree with you that the summer is probably not the most optimal time to test. That is something I had not considered. Again all good points.

I send almost daily – whenever I remember. I don’t strategize about when to send.

Sonia that is kind of how I’ve been going about it, but I would like to be more strategic.

Obviously I’d be interested in any hard data that shows its better to send offer at certain times, but I think it’ll also drive you crazy since eBay gives no data.
We send offers whenever they’re available to send and we have time. The offers will appear in the buyer’s mailbox and they can consider whenever they want.

I also send offers daily, sometimes more than once a day. I hadn’t pondered that it might make a difference as to what day I send the offers ie: it might be better to send them right before payday.
I just figured that I should send the offer before eBay takes away my chance to do so. But I don’t send offers if the item has lots of watchers or is already the lowest priced on eBay. And I’ve seen those items that I don’t send offers on disappear from my send offers list after a couple of days. -

I’ve been sending these on Friday with the thought that is when many people get paid and have some discretionary income they may not want to spend later in the week.
This morning I sent 7 offers with a 12% discount and right away sold one for $83.42 (free shipping). The buyer paid right away, it will cost me around $20 for shipping and fees, a reasonable return for an item I paid $10 for 4 years ago.

I like sending offers in the evening with the hopes someone is enjoying their second glass of wine or what have you. I like to envision them being more apt to part with their money then. 🙂
