As a top rated seller I am supposed to getting a $10 a month credit for using promoted listings. Last year I got it every quarter. Then this year nothing. The first time I had to call and they acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about but I eventually got it credited to my March bill. I should have been credited to my February invoice. So this quarter I waited for my May invoice and nothing. I waited for June and nothing. I called today I will spare you the joy I experienced but again they acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about. I used someone’s advice from here and pulled up the article and read it to them. Then they were surprised I wanted it today and didn’t want to wait for next month.. I have a reference #. And will definitely receive a call back in 24-48 hours. Ha. Anyone else or is it just me?

Do you have a link to the the article you read them? I thought it was $30 a quarter (not $10/month). Mine does appear to get credited the month after. So if I had $14.00 in promoted listings in april, I don’t see that credit until my may invoice, so it is delayed a month or so and caps at $30.
I’m about to post a separate issue about promoted listings so look and see If what I ask is applying to you or not also.

Yes you’re right $30 a quarter I’m sorry. I was getting it quarterly for example last year I got it in November, August, etc. every three months. So you get your credit every month instead of every quarter?

I was reading the the FAQ since they didn’t seem to have a clue what I was talking about it… I wonder if I got it quarterly since I ran through my $30 allotment in a month’s time. I normally have about $40 a month in fees. I’m still wondering why it quit working though. Frustrating. I’ll go read your question now. Thanks for the response…-

Yeah, maybe check May invoice and see if you have a $30 credit from April, if so that might be it for the quarter. I try to put a small enough % on my promoted listings that I usually use only the $30 or go a little over for the quarter. Actually I just went over y $30 for this quarter a few days ago, but sales have been so slow I’m going to keep the higher % on (5%) for the rest of the quarter to hopefully spur on more sales.

This is how it is supposed to work:

See 2nd response. So yes the credit should should up on the following month’s invoice. Mine appears to each month.

Thanks. So to summarize I have only gotten it once this year and only because I called. At least it’s written out so I can read that when I have to call. Oh wait. I forgot I will be getting a call back in 24-48 hours. 🙂

Hi!
You aren’t alone.
We receive a credit on each invoice for the prior month’s promoted listing charges up to the $30 per quarter credit. So on the March invoice, we would receive a credit for February’s promoted listings.Last month, for my May invoice, I received the credit that I had for my March promotions, which I had already received on my April invoice. I spent more money on promotions in April and that amount should have been credited instead. When I called in, the agent was very confused, but I eventually baby stepped them through the process and showed them on the invoices that I was twice credited for March and not for April. They told me it would be corrected on my next invoice, but I’ll have to wait and see what happens.
I’ve noticed that invoices need to be gone over with a fine tooth comb each month. There seems to frequently be a mistake here or there. I keep meticulous records so these are easy, if time consuming, to spot. Thankfully it’s only ever a couple dollars at a time, but it is frustrating nonetheless. If you are not receiving the correct credits, just keep pestering them until they fix it.

Thanks mighty. I still haven’t received that phone call I was guaranteed to get. I’m going to give it until monday and then call again. Seems to me last time it took a few days. April’s invoice was fun. They credited me for all the final value fees on shipping for my returns but did not credit the final value fee on the item itself. I did get that resolved. Again they seemed to not know at all what I was talking about. Oh well what else do I have to do other than call ebay 🙂

You’re welcome. At least the hold times have come way down. Seems I’m making at least a call a week over some new glitch or incorrect calculation.
In the case of the promotion reimbursement, they told me at the time it had something to do with the date the invoice was created and that it should “correct itself”. Again, only time will tell. I’m not holding my breath, but I got a service number just in case I have to call in at the end of the month. Scratch that…I’m sure I’ll have to call in at the end of the month about *something*. This will just be something else on the pile. LOL. -

Well I got it. I called again and the agent seemed quite shocked the first agent didn’t call me back. I got an email from the first agent within twelve hours apologizing for not calling me back and he HAD submitted the credit but it was denied twice. He did it the third time and got it through for me. However, he documented it not as me asking for the promoted listing credit but just asking for a random $30 credit since I was a top rated seller. Um. ok. I wonder why that got denied? 🙂
Ebay sent me a questionnaire asking how they did and I told them. I also mentioned that I noticed in this is “fun” is that every time I call they try to tell me I got the promoted listing fee credit and they name off some ten dollar amount about or so. When you get a return and it sells from promoted listings when you process the refund you get that promoted listing fee back and it is listed as a promoted listing fee credit. I have explained this to every rep I talk to. When I get the credit I called about it shows up as misc. credit. on my invoice. I’m not saying ebay is purposely trying to get out of paying that credit but it does seem they could have named those credits better. Anyway…
