Love the rubber repair tin. Like almost everything, there’s a small devout (ravenous) group of collectors out there that collect tire repair kits/tins. I’ve sold a few in the past. Usually just a small little tin with a rasp, some patches, and some glue, but people collect them for the graphics/companies.
And funny enough, I just looked up Mille Bornes about two weeks ago. Saw it in a thrift store, and had never seen/heard of it before. It was newer than yours and really rough, so paying the $2 to get $10 didn’t make sense at the time.

For a holiday gift, my sister and BIL gave us a lazy susan for displaying wine corks. I’ve wanted one for a while, and we finally had enough corks. The first one we received had a crack in the wood. The vendor let us keep it and sent out a new one. The new one had three cracks in it. They ended up refunding us our money, and we got to keep both. My career before eBay was as an engineer in the communications satellite business. A few weeks ago, a friend I used to work with called and said that he was cleaning out his garage. I came by and grabbed a bunch of stuff, most of which still needs to be listed. However, I did list some books including this 1987 one on communications satellite design. This Marbles No. 80 Rear Sight for .22 Rifles went for $17 plus shipping. I had pennies in it as part of an auction lot. There are large lots of gun parts to be had at giveaway prices but usually the parts are uncatalogued and without original packaging which makes it tough to profitably part out the lot unless you’re a gunsmith, which I’m not. https://imgur.com/a2r9TxV
This 1972 Tiffany Catalog Blue Book is a neat reference, providing a nice picture of what was stylish with the upperclass at the time in jewelry and accessories. It sold for $45 plus shipping. It was a couple bucks at an indy thrift. https://imgur.com/djA5EoQ
I have had this well-worn sterling ring for many years. I don’t recall what I paid for it but since it’s not the type of military item I used to collect, it had to have been very little for me to have bought it, probably only a couple bucks. It bears the distinctive unit insignia of the 312th Engineer Battalion of the 87th Infantry Division, which was a unit only in existence during WWII. Another foreign sale, this time to Italy. This is an OG 107 US Army Utility Sateen Shirt dating from after WWII. An early 1st pattern but it had some condition issues so I put it up for $54 and took $45 plus shipping. (With foreign shipping I made about another $5 profit on it.) I was very excited to find this custom handmade knife made by Chubby Hueske with its original numbered sheath for only $100 at a gun show even though it was in rough shape, as it could have been a $500 sale once cleaned up. I got it to about 95% there but there was some corrosion on the blade edge that I was not able to resolve without possibly damaging it so I put it up for $208 plus shipping with full disclosure. That WWII ring is really cool, obscure with a great vintage look. I hope something like that pops up next time I buy out a huge costume lot. Thank you for posting the tongs with the Airliner markings. Something else to watch out for while keeping fingers cut free digging in the kitchen gadget bins.

Finally a week for me with more than just a couple of what I think are interesting sales.
Here is a tiny 1 inch plastic robot alien figure from the 1960’s. I sourced a lot of them on eBay and have pieced them out and been selling on Etsy for $20 each with a few selling last week. I’m showing you this guy because he went all the way to Germany. I remember having a couple of these toys as a kid in the 60’s, playing with them in bed and hiding them under my pillow. Now for a not so cute Etsy bread & butter sale. It is refreshing for me to find items like this after digging through doll clothing and even manlier smalls. I wrap the lengths around my shoulders, turn my T-shirt to rust and enjoy the stares as I hike out of the market trying to look casual. A mans gotta spit and a mans gotta buy rusty old heavy stuff, eventually. This shipped easy and economically in a flat rate large box. ToTommyTo – I was just casually clicking through your sold links when I noticed that you are from Naples, FL. We just booked our vacation for the July 4 week in Naples (yes, we know it will be very hot). Any off-the-beaten-path things we should do when we are out there?
We have our lodging – my dad owns a business, and we use his credit in a barter company to get our hotel. It breaks out to part barter credit and part cash.
It will be my family (two teenagers), my sisters family (2 tweens), and my parents (in their late 70s). So, quite the range of interests. We usually take a day or two for water sports like jet skis (my parents will hang out at the pool that day), a day or two at the beach, some sightseeing (we’ve toured plantations, gardens, zoos, estate homes, etc), maybe rent a boat or take a boat trip, and so forth. Sometimes my dad and brother-in-law will golf.
I’m interested in restaurant recommendations as well. I usually get my info from Travel Advisor, AAA, etc. We just booked our hotel yesterday, so I haven’t had a chance to look up much.
Do you have places that you like to take visitors? Anything that you like to do but may not be listed in guide books/sites?

Steamers has the best seafood in the area, located in a strip mall, MA family run, feels and tastes like New England. I love Buffalo Chips, old Florida style rough yet family wing place bar in Bonita Springs, go DEATH wings if you like hot! I know Brass Tap is a chain, but the one in North Naples just off 41 has good enough food, great staff, lots beer. A charter fishing trip just out of Tin City is great, good for all ages, drop the line, hook the fish, crew does the rest, and Pinchers Sea Food will cook your catch right there in Tin City. Fleamasters in Ft Myers off exit 138 has a huge flea market, old and new stuff. Coconut Point in Estero is our favorite for shopping, movies, food, just a bit hot since outside. Tons of beaches, we settled into enjoying Vanderbilt Beach the most, easy parking and facilities, sunset is a must most times. Touristy, but if you have not taken an airboat ride out in the Everglades, its worth it, everyone can go, a bit canned but fun, we use Captain Jacks, ask for Jeremy, big Alabama guy (if he’s still there)
Great Video Steve! All the items you sold this week are exactly what I’d like to sell in my store. Very cool stuff! I’m a SCOUT lover but the Bronco is the next popular resto mod out here these days, good score on that grill!

This was my big sale of the week. I spotted these funny plastic cups at an estate sale and talked the lady down to $2 for the set of three. I thought I could make a quick $20 or so from them until I did some research. These are apparently rare. There was a nice news article written about the company, Whirley Industries, and even these cups specifically. So I did what any Scavenger Lifer would do. Price them high and wait for the best offer. Here’s a Gillette shaving safety blade that I got in a box lot of goodies that I paid $28 total (each sellable item $2). I didn’t think razors got a lot of sellable value based on previous research, but apparently I was wrong. Certain brands and models can fetch a nice little sum. This one I was able to date to 1950 based on the code on the blades. I took a best offer of $60 for it. I pulled this George Harrison 7” album sleeve from a platter box of records that I was going to sell as a lot. It was in fairly good condition and was the only thing that was worth it to sell individually. The funny thing about it, there was one that previously sold for over $200! We’ve all probably seen these little metal banks in box lots and thrift stores. They’re made by Banthrico and I always see them in the shape of trains. I sold this one for $20.
