I was looking back at my sales for the year and was analyzing my alternate selling platforms: Bonanza and Truegether.
I started my Bonanza store in August, and I had 5 sales from 08/02 – 08/15. I only sold 3 more items the rest of the year on Bonanza, for a grand total of $212 for the year. I think at the beginning they give you some type of “traffic boost” to help your sales, but then they want to sell you a subscription after that. It seems like Bonanza is mainly set up just to nickel and dime you through subscriptions and fees. I’m thinking of shutting it down completely, as it hardly seems worth it. I even set it up to advertise on Google shopping (at their basic free level), but sales are still slow. Either I’m thinking to shut it down, or give it a try with the “Premium” version and see if its really worth it. Has anyone tried the Bonanza premium subscriptions? Did you have any luck?
Truegether I started using in 2017 and for 2018, I have sold a little over $2,900. I’ve been pretty happy with this site. It has no fees, except for the fee for Google Shopping promotions, so I offer a small 5% discount on all my items for this platform, then I set my cap for Google Shopping at 10%. It’s not amazing sales, but it doesn’t cause me too much additional work or time.
I’m a little worried all these platforms with my identical listings are competing with one another. Are my eBay, Truegether, and Bonanza listings all bidding against one another for the best spot for my (admittedly very niche) items on Google Shopping?

We shut down our store for two reasons. We had the free version and had very few sales. But since it was free, it was no big deal until Bonanza stopped syncing correctly with eBay. Bonanza told us they werent going to fix the bug. So Bonanza became more trouble than it was worth.

Yep, its free and automatically syncs to eBay, though we sell very very little there. I have no idea how Trugether makes any money. Doesnt seem like a long term contender.

I question this as well. If Sixbit or whoever comes up with a way to automatically sync the same listings across six different platforms, and everyone is doing it, doesnt online buying just become spammy as hell? I guess as long as things sell. Maybe the strength is meeting people where ever they shop.

We still have our Bonanza store, only get about 1 sale a month. TrueGether has been a bit more consistent, but not enough to write home about.
I tried the Boost with Bonanza process a while back…totally not worth it.
Yep, can be spammy. I have done some Google Shopping queries before, and I see my own listings all together (Bonanza, TrueGether, Poshmark)…
Funny, I don’t see the eBay listings on Google Shopping. Still getting penalized I think…

I am seeing the opposite with Bonanza and Truegether. Bonanza is doing great and not much at all with Truegether.
The only issue is that Bonanza is not syncing anymore as Jay says. Has anyone found a fix for that short of dropping and redoing your whole store?

–What does “great” mean on Bonanza? How many items are listed and how many sell a month?
–Does re-importing your eBay store into Bonanza fix the syncing issue? I just thought there was a bug that they refuse to fix.

Jay,
When I say great for Bonanza, I mean as compared to Truegether. For 2018: $579 on Bonanza vs. $338 on Truegether.
So, not great compared to ebay, but that’s $917 so I will take it when I basically did no extra work.
Yes, I think it is a bug that they refuse to fix. I guess re-importing your eBay store into Bonanza would only fix it for that moment, but then as things sell, it would get out of sync. But I think I am way off right now since Bonanza doesn’t end the items when they sell on ebay.

Yep, we were making about $500 a year on Bonanza. About $50/month. Not bad for not having to do anything since Bonanza was automatically syncing to eBay.
I guess if you re-imported your store and then made sure to keep up with the Bonanza inventory when something sold, you’d be okay. Just need to make the determination if it was worth the rare random sale.
Trugether is fine for us now as long as it automatically syncs.
