Awesome sales, Steven! That tackle box was really cool. And I laughed out loud when your dog walked right into that spider! I didn’t have a very awesome week. But here are some highlights regardless…
First up was a particular sale. I received a message with an offer for this cast iron mortar and pestle set for $35 with free shipping, but they only wanted the pestle portion. Well, seeing how the mortar was cracked and essentially useless outside of decoration, I looked into how much it would cost to ship a 3 pound pestle to her. I sent back a counter offer with the increase to offset the shipping and she accepted $42. I paid $22 for the whole thing, but sadly it broke when I got flooded last year. I’ll see if I can sell the mortar as a planter or something. LOL
Cast Iron PestleI bought this really cool mid century tartan plaid clothing travel bag at an auction for a dollar. I really thought it would do well when I listed it, but that was 2 years ago. I ended up taking a half price offer of $30 just to get rid of the thing. The buyer said it will be used to carry rocks in a plaid race. Whatever that means…
Plaid Clothes Travel BagI acquired these three small melamine Florence art trays in a box lot. They cost me about $3. I priced them rather high just because I thought they looked cool. It took awhile, but they finally sold for full price of $35.
Melanine Trinket TraysHere’s my highest sale of the week. I never pass up an opportunity to snag up vintage aluminum kitchen canisters. They always sell well for me. This particular set is made by Kromex. There are a ton of them up on eBay already, but mine included the grease container with the strainer. I priced it high at $60 and waited patiently. It took about a month, but it sold for full price. I paid $2 for it.

Thanks for the video, Steve!
I don’t know what’s going on but old magazine back issues have been flying off the shelf for me during the last week. I sell them in lots and am picky about what magazines I’ll sell because they are not fast movers nor large money makers. I’ve had some cooking magazines for around 2 years. Last week I sold 1 lot to a prop house and then last night I sold 5 different lots to 1 person. Yesterday I sold 17 vintage photography magazines from the 1960s. I get each magazine for 10 cents. After COGS, fees and shipping I’ve cleared $97 on magazines in the last week. But mostly I’m just glad to have them move out of my inventory.
All other sales have been small dollar bread and butter items. I haven’t had any big ticket items sell in quite some time. But I also haven’t sourced any big ticket items lately either. I guess I consider anything $100 and up to be a big ticket item. I rarely get to source these days due to outside work. Less time in thrift stores means less chance of finding the big dollar stuff.

Love that toolbox, Steve. 🙂
Just a few interesting items to share from my meh week of sales:
I bought this wooden medicine cabinet at a yard sale for $10, intending to keep it for my own use, but have changed my mind. It would go in a small space that would be better served with a flat mirror, despite the storage it gives. Sold after 1 month or 2: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Vintage-Walnut-Wood-Mirrored-Wall-Mount-Medicine-Cabinet-20-x-13-5-x-6/323407462597
I had a small collection of antlers I displayed on the wall at my old house, including this larger set with skull. Paring down – or trying to – my collection of things that hang on walls. Have had this up for many months, and it finally sold to someone in CA that needed it in a hurry and paid almost as much as the item on shipping it to them: https://www.ebay.com/itm/8-Point-Buck-Deer-Antlers-Skull-Wall-Mount-Trophy-Boho-Western-Camp-Decor/323294980583
I hated adding this awesome Rosenthal coupe glasses to my current sale, but I’ve had them for over a year, and need to make some sales. Had tons of watchers. Paid a few bucks for them at a thrift store. They’re fairly delicate, so I’m hoping my packing/packaging did the trick and they all arrive safe: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Set-of-6-Rosenthal-Fuga-Coupe-Champagne-Tall-Sherbet-Cocktail-Glasses-5-7-8/323088688905
I love old lamps and making them new again – rewiring, new shades, etc. I’m sitting on a lot of lamp inventory right now, and was glad to make 2 sales this week. One included this clear glass, art deco style set. Picked them up for a few bucks at an estate sale, rewired them for a few dollars more, and finally sold them on sale, after having them listed for about 8-10 months: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-2-Vintage-Pressed-Glass-Art-Deco-Vanity-Boudoir-Bedside-Table-Lamps-9-5/323353991240

You always post cool sales, SFF! It’s good to know that deer skulls can fetch some decent money. I find then around my area from time to time. I’l start picking them up from now on.

My dog’s most epic scavenge (I’m sure in his dog-mind) was a deer skull with one antler. It still had all of its teeth and just a little bit of fur at the very top (cringe!). When my dog found it he was so excited that he ran up to me at full speed. I couldn’t tell what he had in his mouth but knew that whatever it was, I didn’t want it pressed up against me which is where it was headed. I ran to the house screaming and watched him from the window. He was very pleased with his find! He pranced around with it whenever he went outside for a few days and then lost interest. I should have sold it!

I had a slightly better week than the past two, so I can at least talk about an interesting sale or two.
I was able to date this plate to the mid 1800s! But, just because something is old, doesn’t mean that it’s valuable. I paid maybe $1, and it sold for $16.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183264243415This is the highest value item I sold maybe in two to three months. This is a painting of a mother and child. I took a lower offer than I would have liked, but I was hungry for a sale. I paid about $37, and it sold for $110.
