Good week selling online with Cyber Monday 20% off and another Ebay sale last weekend. I have a lot of thoughts about Poshmark. Mercari is pretty dead.
I have been selling some things on Poshmark that have sat forever on Ebay (even with refreshing now and then). I have a theory that Ebay somehow treats a listing once a loser, always a loser and I’m not good about going back and repricing or tweaking older listings. I also have a buyer’s offer floor on all of my Ebay listings (with automatic acceptance at that floor). Over on Poshmark, I’m getting a lot of half price offers but if the margins are too thin I just counter higher. It’s annoying but I have sold some old stuff. Over 90% of my recent Poshmark sales are on offer, mostly seller offer. I’m having to check my phone every few hours and send out offers but I want to see what is going on instead of setting up automated offers in the software. At this point, I’ll be keeping the software at $69/month. I will probably list some of our clothing on Posh in the new year.
I’ve been good about staying out of the thrift store but have not been good about listing. I have a handful of Christmas items left to list this week.
It feels super good to sell something I got at the flea or really cheap. When I get an offer on that stuff, I’m like yea – I can afford to do that even after fees. I am really motivated to keep my sourcing costs at a minimum the few times I go sourcing.

P.S. Posh is reporting like 75% of my listings are taking too long at USPS and they are upping their estimated delivery time to 7 to 10 business days. A lot of my sales have not paid out yet. Normally I don’t check on tracking, but I’m seeing it’s taking days to get out of my town. I have been waiting in line for a scan, and I’ll either have to do that or drive out to the distribution center counter (10 minutes) to CYA. I feel like the cutoff dates they are giving at USPS are not going to work out.
