2025 weekly new listings Avg: 23
2025 avg gross weekly sales $1,572.00
2025 Avg weekly Items Sold 31

2025 projected total sales $81,744.00Wow that was a rough week! I had no sales on Monday and a single low dollar sale on Wednesday. There was a seller update released on Monday and my sales always tend to tank when they put out a seller update. My thoughts are that they messed up something so buyers are affected. My traffic was down over 10% compared to last week.
To make it an even worse week I received back a $300 shoe return. For some reason returns were turned off on that pair – probably some glitch in the app that turned off my preferences. So it ended up a return request because they didn’t fit that I could have declined. I debated for a couple days if I should accept it or deny it. In the end I accepted it as it felt like the ethical thing to do. Hopefully karma will reward me.
I didn’t get much done over the weekend. Saturday was basketball all day and Sunday was just weird – I slept almost the entire day. I felt under the weather once or twice last week but loaded up on vitamins and elderberry both time and felt fine afterwards. Hopefully that was the end of it and not the beginning. I feel fine today. Needless to say, no ebay work was done this weekend.

We must be passing germs around the forums because I have also been feeling a bit under the weather the last few days. And I don’t get sick very often. Fortunately, I think I am on the mend. This couldn’t come at a better time because I ran 275 of my eBay listings as auctions which ended last night. So I have quite a few packages to get mailed out over the next few days.
The auctions went well, maybe slightly above my expectations, and I’m planning on trying another batch the week after the Super Bowl if I’m feeling better by then, or the end of the month if I’m a little slower to heal. I’ll have those auction numbers plus some thoughts on the state of auctions in next week’s thread.
1/26/2024 to 2/3/2024
Total listings: 234
Before writing this post, I returned the majority of unsold auctions to my store inventory at their original BINs or close to it. I do it by price range. I still have 84 unsold auctions to return to inventory. Probably tomorrow. It’s all my cheap stuff, so I want to go through and remove the listings that I don’t think are going to sell. I’m happier when I’m evaluating my inventory regularly instead of letting it sit, sit, sit and things get too cluttered.
New listings this week: 24
Items sold: 19 — 11 via best offer, 5 via seller initiated offer, 12 via advertising
Gross sales: $954.75 (down 33% from one year ago)
Net sales: $518.16 (down 40% from one year ago)
Average sales price: $50.25 (up 16% from one year ago)
High sale of the week: $133.54 net, about $95 after COGS Jayden Daniels 1/1 2024 Pro Set fire SGC 9 mint

I have another equipment dilemma I’ve been debating on the last week or two. I recently bought a lot of PlayStation two games and they all have minor scratches. More so than I normally have for items I sell. I also have a big stack of disc only games that are scratched up that have been sitting on shelf for a while.
I can get a disc cleaner that’s $200 That will do a very good job of cleaning all these discs up. Having clean discs can increase your STR and increase your sale price.
I honestly don’t buy a whole bunch of disc based games mainly because they’re hard to find. But this is a piece of equipment that I know I could recoup the investment fairly quickly just by cleaning up the discs. I have on hand.
Video games will never be a major component of my store. What do you all think? Worthwhile investment that’ll pay itself off quick and will be there when I need it, or just burn through the inventory I have as is to be done with it and move on.

As someone who used to sell a good amount of media items and still dabbles when it makes sense (RIP Newberry Library sale)…unless you’re going to miss the $200 terribly, or you have severe space limitations like I do, I say go for it. It only takes a few $50+ discs with moderate scratches to cover the initial investment of a resurfacer, and as far as I know, every good resurfacer works on video games, cd’s, dvd’s. So you should get some use out of it.
I think about it like this…is there any equipment that any of you have purchased for your reselling business that you regret buying? I took way too long to get a Dymo label printer, but I can’t imagine life without one. Same thing with every time I stock up on a particular shipping supply that I use. Worst case, you sell off the used machine for something close to what you paid for it.
Heck, there are sellers who have mail-in resurfacing listings, send them your scratched discs, and they will send you back clean ones. That doesn’t sound like a ton of fun to me for about $8 net after fees and return shipping…but do that 210 times (as this seller did) and you’ve got a few grand in the bank for very little actual work.

@Retro-Treasures-WV – If you clean the disk, do you have to test it as well? Especially if these were scratched disks, you would need to make sure that they are now readable. If you have to take the time to do both, then is it worth it? On the other hand, this is coming from someone who is trying to reduce inventory. I like selling electronics, but I don’t like testing. I also don’t know how much you think you can get for each disk. If the money is there, then I think it is up to whether you enjoy the process. I know that these will sell better than the vintage stuff that I have in my store.
Anyway, I’ve pulled about 80 items from inventory compared to last week. I have about 42 lots created for my auction, and I want to have about 100. I’ve got lots to do still, but I am on my way. In the end, I would like to have about 800-1000 items in my store, but I will then start listing again.
Sale were fine considering that I’m pulling stuff rather than listing.

Number of items listed this week: 10+Pretty decent week for this time of year. All new items selling mainly. Previous and December/January purchases. Need to get listing this week! Poor weather will help. I was having a lot of insomnia issues last week but seems to be better this week.
I hope R&J you are doing well! Miss hearing updates from you. I even miss the what you are eating segment. LOL
I’m thinking about some future plans. I have a lot of small art listed on Ebay that would have sold live at my booths and is I think being overlooked on Ebay. Most of the art I have sold successfully is a listed artist. I have some other goals right now for the first part of the year but I’m considering just putting the vintage amateur art and completed embroidery on Etsy. I hate that you have to do free shipping but I could start with smalls. I’m also planning to do a bit more styling in my photos on Instagram and some listings. We have a lot of flower growers here so I am lucky to get them very reasonably. I need to go through my piles and pull some trays, books, vases…
