Had a pretty light scavenging week as I worked through some old inventory, which led to a few interesting finds.
This 1960s Field of Vision NFL television broadcast book has an interesting Terapeak history, with most sales in the $30 to $50 range and a few above $100. I paid a mere $5 since the original listing only had pictures of the front and the back, and the pictures were a black book on a black background. I should get this listed within the next week or two and there are no others listed, so I’ll start with a $150 BIN/BO and work my way down.
This Wayne Gretzky signed framed photo has a few issues (moisture damage, faded signature) but it’s a framed certified autograph of the greatest hockey player of all time for $25. I’ll make a few bucks profit on this one way or another.
What did you find this week?

Pretty much just listed from the piles last week. Flea was closed due to the rain and I’ve been trying to get up items for the next 3 big holidays. Don’t have a lot of items for those three but now that I know what’s where in my piles, I’ve been listing anything with a heart.

I am starting to see a few new in box items show up at the Goodwill (presumably Christmas items that got donated). https://www.ebay.com/itm/335241737142 https://www.ebay.com/itm/335241670634 https://www.ebay.com/itm/235397396251 https://www.ebay.com/itm/235408022209
Finally, I’m having some luck with Mercari offer bundles and occasionally buying from the outlet sellers. Some of them have terrible titles and are making a listing that looks like one item when you actually get a pair or 4. They are taking 50% off, which is about $8-10 per new item, about or just above what I would pay at my thrifts for Pottery Barn items in package.

How did you know that bowl was special without the Koda Boda (cool name) sticker on it? Just looked quality or you know the brand? It’s a really nice bowl.
Nice mix of games that you found at Goodwill. Games and puzzles are one of the few areas where I can go in a thrift store and have a little confidence in my knowledge, but I rarely find anything worth much. I’ve had this weird Gulf War themed board game listed for probably six months now and keep getting watchers but no bidders. There is one Terapeak sale from a few years ago and I’ve never seen another active listing. I might just open it up and play with it if it doesn’t sell for a $20 bid. I’ve gone with higher BIN prices but never even got an offer.
Also, please tell me more about these offer bundles and outlet sellers. Those are two of the ways I make money with online sourcing: find terrible titles and relist like a professional, and buy in bulk from the same sellers week after week and make lots of small profits. A combined shipping price from the same seller is a huge part of my inventory acquisition model: instead of bidding $2 + $4 shipping for one item, I’ll bid $4 + ($30 shipping/20 items) and come out paying a little less overall. Do this thousands of times and that’s my business, basically. It helps that I deal mostly in small items like trading cards but I suspect the model would work for other types of items, too, as long as you can find sellers who deal in huge quantities and price very low or run auctions on their inventory.

@Craig I’ve sold similar items by the artist before and they are easy to spot
Games more slowly for me, which is probably due to big retailers offering free shipping. I should probably reduce prices but I try to think of good keywords.
The retailers put their outlets in the middle of nowhere towns or list deep discounts online at 5 am so their usual shoppers won’t see lower prices. The people who get to shop that get incredible deals on discontinued merch and then post online. They can afford to take less than full retail and probably want to recoup their outlay. I am willing to wait for a close to full retail price on EBay. I try to cherry pick the best designs that stand out online.
I did run into a problem of one of the outlet sellers being out of stock ( probably cross posted) and another sending the wrong item. Their listings aren’t great but perhaps they’re organization is not great either.
