I had an auction batch end last week, basically running these every other week at this point. This was one of my best batches yet in terms of sell through rate, almost 25% on the nose on the Sunday batch. A lot of these sales are from my curated sports card team lots which have become about 25% of my business. But I had some other fun items sell too.
A couple very niche sports card sales: Katarina Witt autographed ice skating card and Don Newcombe Topps Heritage Korean War uniform card each netting me about $10 in profit. But sold within a few days of listing them. I don’t have any interest in keeping cards like this for any sort of collection, but I love selling them. I completely understand why a buyer would want them enough to pay $20 or $40 and selling in that price range is, in my opinion, the most sustainable way to build an eBay business.
A wholesale lot of about 400 football cards for a net of $85 after fees, plus whatever the cards cost me. The offshoot of buying and selling cards in quantity is that after a while, you end up with piles and boxes and messes of cards. It got really bad for a while, and clutter can become really hard to deal with. Slowly, over the last few years as I moved to doing this full-time, I’ve figured out ways of organizing my inventory much better. These wholesale lots — enough cards to fit in a medium flat rate box with adequate protection — have helped me clear a lot of the clutter that’s left. This is the third one I’ve sold and I still have a few more in my store. I’m going to send them to auction tonight, and make another set of lots in each sports over the next few weeks. Whatever doesn’t sell by Black Friday, I will run those at auction and see how it goes. Maybe a $49.99 starting bid? Auctions are weird and often disappointing. But maybe one or two will end up in a minor bidding war.
Sold this signed racing biography for $20 last night. Purchased a lot of 4 signed racing biographies for $20 in February 2022 and I’ve made about $100 total profit on them. Not bad! There were a few higher sales of this signed book in Terapeak, but there were others listed and when something isn’t particularly rare, I’m happy with any profit.
Finally, a pair of Fleetwood Mac concert tickets for $16.75 net. Paid $3 each as an add-on to a large trading card order based off nothing but a few seconds in Terapeak and my personal love for the song Landslide. This is my second sale of tickets in the last two weeks — this week concert, last week inauguration — so I’m going to list a few more tickets from my death piles this week to try and make the eBay algorithm happy.
What did you sell this week?

*I Actually have a week with a higher total sales $ by about $50 but that was heavily skewed by the sale of a pinball machine.

Blackweb Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with LED Lighting Effects BWA18HO004
A good example of scavengerlife. I actually bought this keyboard for $1 at a yard sale to use at work. I tried it, and it was INSANELY LOUD clickety clackety. So I sold it for a great profit.

Polo Ralph Lauren Mens RLPC Beach Division Pants Cotton Pin Stripe Size 40 x 32
Sold for full price! This one took just under 3 months. These sales will all happen eventually for these higher dollar items. Just gotta be patient. I knew this would be a multi year process when I bought in on the premium hoarder stuff. It’s so easy to get frustrated when listing these amazing items and they don’t sell quickly. I’ve struggled with that feeling with these shoes this week as 1 out of 5 do get offers almost immediately. Why can’t all 5? I just want instant gratification and a giant pile of money – is that too much to ask???

Gucci Horsebit Loafer Crocodile Alligator Loafers Men’s Size 10 Aqua Blue
These sold same day as listed for $500 after some negotiating. The buyer was the first buyer I had for this shoe collection. Back then I was rattled with finding some fake shoes in the lot. I panicked and started taking any/every offer on some shoes listings. I was worried at the time that the shoes I sold him may have been fake. I know enough now to know they were indeed real. Needless to say, he got two great deals on identical but different colored shoes. These he still got a good deal on, but definitely not a panic fire sale price (which was the initial offer he made -$250).

Queer as Folk The Complete Series Showtime U.S. Version 28-Disc Box Set 2007 DVD
I held out for a good price on this and it paid off – sold for $325 on offer. I paid $5 at the premium hoarder yard sale. Just saw it off-hand in a bin of DVD’s while I was waiting for them to total up my huge purchase of clothing.

@Retro congrats!
I sold a Pottery barn kids sheet set for $49 and a Pendleton wool throw for $109. Both sold within hours of listing. The throw was in good condition without holes but had a lot of teeny tiny fibers or grass bits that I had trouble fully removing with a lint roller. Hope the buyer is happy. I was checking out at Goodwill and spotted it at the last minute, literally stopped the cashier after almost missing it.
