I had a huge week of sales last week, no doubt because I listed lots of nice new items from my Chicago haul. I have another post about that haul coming in the next few days, so I will limit my sale of the week to other stuff because I hate spoilers.
So, in other sale of the week news, I sold another Disney eyeshadow palette for $50. I bought about five or six of these for about $15 to $20 each from a very small time card seller sometime during the pandemic. Not sure why they had so many. They had 10 or 15 more that sold quickly to other buyers (likely flippers) and in hindsight I wish I had bought them all. Not a huge profit on each one but they sell quickly and pack/ship very easily.
This autographed photo of New York Rangers hockey goalies was a quick flip — bought for $16.50 on May 8 from a listing titled <span class=”onboarding-tourtip onboarding-tourtip-2-3-resultTable search-results-tourtip-wrapper”><span class=”onboarding-tourtip onboarding-tourtip-3-2-activeTab”><span data-item-id=”374663919696″>Ed Giacomin Chuck Raymer Gump Worsley Signed 8×10 Rangers Photo AUTO JSA COA and sold last week for $50. But I only got it listed a few weeks ago.</span></span></span>
I’m not sure what I paid for this book autographed by the great Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders which means I’ve had it a long time, but the listing sold for my “full” price of $79.99 after lingering with 10+ watchers for what seemed like forever. I tried a few cycles of end and sell similar, reprice, send offers to watchers, try sending it to auction and never got an offer above $50. No COA on the autograph but the book signing was done by a reputable company which gives it enough provenance to maintain its value. This is a nice sale because the buyer got it for a nice price (low end of sold listings) and I get a little shelf space back by moving a bulky hardcover, so everyone is happy.
I found this signed Indigo Girls CD (bought $1, sold $14.99) at an end of season library sale where everything was half off or heavily discounted. I got to the sale about 30 minutes late and still found a number of interesting items, including a bunch of autographed CDs, so I’ll show up on time to the next one.
Finally, this ventriloquism DVD (bought $2, sold $14.99) was a very recent purchase. Nothing flashy but I love finding items like this and imagining about the buyers lives.
What did you sell this week?

So these are the jeans I tried an auction on because I saw an identical pair in terapeak go for over $1k on bid. Other sellers told me the terapeak auction was likely a glitch and not real. There were no other comps higher than $70.
I got not action on bid so I listed at $150. Countered several offers at $100 and sent several offers to watchers at $100. Someone came along a paid full price. Would this have been that magical buyer that would have paid the $1000 at auction? Maybe. We’ll never know. I’m happy with my $150.

I had to list some death pile stuff to clear off a shelf in my listed inventory shed. This has been sitting in a bin on a shelf for YEARS. Sold within a few days for $125 sent offer.

I read something somewhere about what this glitch might be — something like seller has a multi quantity listing, goes out of stock, then reups the listing with new items? I’m sure there are other scenarios where that can happen too. I think the $150 you took was a great sale.

Good to know I’m not the only one who’s bought stuff and didn’t list it right away. For a while it was my scavenger’s shame. But you’ll get there eventually.
Do you remember where you got this bag from and what you paid for it? And what makes it so valuable? I’m guessing the design and size, but I don’t know anything about bags at all.

I got it at goodwill back when they charged flat rates for purses. I would have paid $3.
I’m always on the look for painted leather bags after I sold one many years back for $100+.
High quality leather always catches my eye.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/334964480595 Anthro for the win. Got these at my prior scavenge of the week yard sale with a bundle deal. I went late to that sale and it made me think I really should go to garage sales sometimes. But I think the last time I spent the morning doing it, they were not good and I only bought storage containers. Hit and miss I guess.
