Ryanne, thanks for linking to the eBay listings for the bluetooth phone adapter (I immediately paused Steve’s video to hunt for that item), but it seems like there are a number of different kinds of device that answer to the name of “bluetooth landline adapter,” having different functions. After some hunting, I’m pretty sure Steve’s device is something more like the Xlink BT Gateway. Care to weigh in Steve?

Great Sales as always Steve:
I had a pair of Beatle boots back in about 1969 I think. Those got dumped long, long ago and had a push button phone in every room, then the slim lines came out along with the Princess model.
I still have that 5 piece JVC stereo and speakers I talked to you about last year. I have the pricing done, just never got around to listing all of it, but it does have to go. Those giant speakers along with the cabinet takes up a lot of spare bedroom space.
One non-Ebay related question. With all of the storms, down pours and heavy rains, how did that sloped back drive-way and curtain drain work for you at your new house? Hope it handled the load and you didn’t get any flooding under those sliding back doors.
Well good for you and no water ran in. Ever since I saw that in your first back yard videos I was wondering how you would fare with a heavy downpour.
Also maybe check with a foundation / basement water leak guy. They do curtain drains, swales and the such. Even for nothing else other than getting an estimate than to talk with them and get informed on water run off from your back yard and maybe how best to clean it and things like that.
Good luck.Maintenance on homes just seems to never end.

Mostly new stuff selling but a handful of vintage and used items. I always get excited when the thrifts put out the Halloween stuff they’ve been hoarding but this year was kind of a bust. I check for high quality costumes and home goods. Maybe someone picked it early.
I’m super attracted to this kind of 1950s kitchenware. Thrilled that someone might use these again daily. Paid $1.99 x 6 at GW. Sold 15% off. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232484154898
This vintage gift wrap took forever to sell. I think free shipping helped. Apparently it does better on Etsy. I have a lot more to list at home. Have some listed that’s been up quite a while. https://www.ebay.com/itm/231992087935 I used a recycled Amazon book box to ship safely.
Nice sales, thanks, Steve. The doggies look like they’re having some fun in the fallen leaves, soon it will all be covered in snow.
I haven’t posted in awhile, still recovering from pneumonia. I’ve been slowly listing the score of Tiki stuff I got at a local garage sale in July, as I have energy to take the pics. I’ve had some really good sales though to keep me busy shipping. I’ve notice lots of sales going to Florida…
Tiki Mugs purchased in a big lot for $175, I’ve more than made my money back on the first item, and I have a ton more listed:
Disney Enchanted Tiki Room “Jose” the Parrot figure, purchased for $20, sold for $249.99 (one recently sold on ebay at auction for $184, but there were no others, could not find one for sale anywhere on the internet, so priced it high, had an offer through messaging for $200, but held firm that I was not taking offers at this time, same guy bought it the next day for asking price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/112606463704
I took last week off from eBay and Scavenger Life while I was on vacation. I sold a lot of items that I’ve had in my store for a very long time. Here are some highlights from the last two weeks of sales.
I use to pick up these microwavable cooking ware items whenever I saw them because I always thought they were so cool. You’ll see them at thrift stores all the time. But I found that they don’t really sell quickly for me (or maybe I’m asking too much, I don’t know). So I was surprised when this set of 6 meal containers sold for full price of $50 (probably paid a total of $2 for them all). Looking back at the photos, I’ve realised how far I’ve come in terms of photographing my items. This was listed way back when I first started selling. https://www.ebay.com/itm/302174808915
Here’s another item that I was pleasantly surprised sold for full price! I picked this antique gunpowder loading tool up at an auction for only $30. I was determined to get it after I looked up some sold prices on eBay and was even willing to pay a lot more for it. But I guess nobody else saw the value like I did. It took a while and I got a LOT of half-priced offers, but it finally found a home for $350. https://www.ebay.com/itm/302326102096
Here’s an item that I was pleased to sell. This came out of a lot of old things that I bought at an auction for $25 (4 sellable items at $6.25 each). I was really after a prayer rug, so the needlepoints were just extra. I have no knowledge or interest in this kind of stuff, but I thought what the hey. So I listed this as well as the other needlepoints for $25 each. It only took about 2 weeks before this first piece sold for full price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/302470443685
I knew I had something special when I acquired this cast iron elephant cigarette dispenser out of a box lot. I paid quite a bit for the lot at $115 (7 sellable items at ~$16.50 each). It was nice because it was all intact with no major damage, original paint, fully functional and still had the original little ashtray that seemed to be missing in a lot of other listings. I priced it high with the intent to take a best offer, but along came a buyer who bought it outright for full price. I was quite pleased! https://www.ebay.com/itm/302436395442
I wanted to share this sale just because it was the oldest item in my inventory and one of the very first things I’ve listed back before I even understood how eBay works. I remember those days when something sold for $20 or $30, it made my week! Well anyways, this showed me ho\w far I’ve come and all the lessons I’ve learned to get here. I actually lost money on this particular sale. I paid $18 for a box lot of old toy cars. It was a learning experience for sure. I ended up selling this particular toy car for $5. My weight must have been off because I ended up spending twice as much on shipping than what the buyer paid, so my net profit was actually in the red. Oh well, it could have been worse. https://www.ebay.com/itm/302416746478
I sold a vintage sewing stool a few weeks ago that I had listed when I had much less eBay experience. The box size I had listed for it was much too small, and the buyer was clear across the country from me. I think I made enough to cover the eBay and PayPal fees and not much more.
So, yeh, I know where you are coming from. It takes a few mistakes to get it right, but then you don’t have the time to go back through all your listings and see if there was something else you missed.
Ha, I’ve made quite of few of those kinds of mistakes! But I’ve learned to think of them as just inexpensive lessons. So what if I lose a few bucks and take a loss on a sale? I could think of far more expensive ways to learn. And that’s what I tell my partner when she makes a mistake in weight or price. Every single person who’s made it in this business has made the same mistakes in their humble beginnings. Brush it off and keep listing!
I was getting worried that we weren’t going to get a What Sold video this week. Just shows you how addicted I am to Scavenger Life!
I bought this cast iron burner thing in a lot with other brass and metal items. I think it took about a year to sell. Paid $1, sold on sale for $26: http://www.ebay.com/itm/182373574445
This ticket and postcard pamphlet from the Bicentennial American Freedom train sold only an hour or so after I listed it. Paid $0.70, sold for $15. http://www.ebay.com/itm/182822746547
My largest sale was 5 yards of wool crepe with matching liner, zipper, and buttons on sale for $146. This is on commission for a family friend, so my COGS is about half. She told me to price it high because wool crepe is rare and she bought it at some fancy fabric store in Maryland. I priced it at the low end of what she suggested because of how wrinkled it is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/182432933479
I bought a lot of vintage mannequins via an online auction. I had bought from these people a few times before, but they don’t always offer enough photos. These were not in as good of condition as I had thought, but I still made decent money. I paid about $15 each, and the child one sold for $50 and the adult for $70. They were local pickup because I didn’t have a box long enough, so I was able to meet the buyer. The mannequins will be decorated for an exhibition starting at the end of the year. I’ll be checking art gallery’s website to see how they end up, and I might have to check it out in person! http://www.ebay.com/itm/182691778423 http://www.ebay.com/itm/182691772513
