Yeah for retail arbitrage! I sold six of these in December. Retailer routinely runs a sale on full price merchandise for a few days, so I wait for that and then speculate on a few items I think will sell well as gifts and sell out at retailer before Christmas. Paid about $22 with taxes. I pinned this item and shared in Facebook, and two out of three of my buyers had zero Ebay feedback.
Also have been picking up these plastic seasonal Hallmark cookie cutters for a dollar or two. They seem to do well but sadly I didn’t get the Christmas ones listed.
Hatchimals experiment was a fail. I overpriced them when demand was greatest and more came out into stores before Christmas. My daughter got one for Christmas and I’m trying to sell the other on Facebook. I got insanely busy the week before Christmas at work or I would have donated them instead. 🙁 I also got called a scumbag on ebay messages by another parent. 🙂
I don’t have a what sells video , but I do have a question about electronics . I grabbed a Niles S1-2100 systems integration amplifier out of my “lucky” dumpster a couple days ago . I couldn’t find the cords and was wondering if you think I could buy the cords on eBay or just sell it without the cords ? Any advice would be much appreciated as I am definitely not tech savvy . This is the same dumpster I picked a 37 inch flat screen from a few months back . Not the super thin models we have now, but not the heavy monsters I grew up watching either . Thanks for the videos . I learn so much from each one .
Depends on which cords you’re talking about. The power cord is a universal computer type. I’ve sold a Niles amp with just the knowledge that it powered on.
These are usually bought by custom home audio installers who know the equipment and if you mark it as untested beyond power on with no guarantee you should still do alright.
I sold three vintage Star Wars books in November, however, they didn’t go for too much, $15 for all three. And I had them since January of this year I believe. Was so glad to see them go. Here is part 1 and 2 of my sold vids for Nov. Will be doing December’s in a couple days.
Just a few sales this week for me, but here are my highlights:
Ryman Auditorium Nashville TN T-Shirt – Paid $2 sold for $18 w/free shipping to someone back in Nashville. T-Shirt
Black Military Jacket with Liner – Paid about $0.50 at an online auction sold for $40 + shipping. Went to FL. Military Jacket
Pair of Redwing 9″ Insulated Boots – Paid about $10 sold for Best Offer of $85. This buyer had messaged me for the measurements as he typically wore a different size. I sent him pictures of the boots next to the tape measure and he responded back if I would be willing to do a Christmas discount. I had best offer on the listing so I was happy to send him an offer letting him know I could get it out on Christmas Eve if he completed the transaction that morning. Went to NJ. Redwing Boots

I follow my favorite sellers on ebay and then at night while lying in bed I sometimes flip through their solds on the ebay app. I noticed that Dec 27th was a GREAT day for Ryanne and Jay’s store! Two astronomical sales. Can’t wait to hear about it on the next podcast.
I have forgotten how to pin an item on Pinterest. I did figure out how to pin an Ebay listing to one of my Pinterest boards. But will that show up on Pinterest for the general public, or only if someone repins it from my personal board? I have a weird plate that I want to put out there as a test to see if it will sell that way. Anyone here Pinterest savvy? I usually only repin things that are already on Pinterest.
